I wish I had a dash cam when I was in a recent minor accident, so it made sense for me to go on an internet shopping exploration across the internet. When I saw the 70mai Dash Cam 4K A810 Lite was up for review, I had to try out this premium-looking dash cam system. Out of the box, this dash cam came with every component needed to run the whole system, including the main and rear cameras, each with its dedicated charging cord.
The main dash cam package also came with a 64GB SD card, so that is great to get it started. While the compression was great, I would probably buy a 256GB or 512GB at the bare minimum. The 70mai’s 4G Hardwire Kit UP03 is sold separately but is necessary for cloud storage and extra security features, including 24-hour parking monitoring, low-voltage protection, and automatic ACC mode switching. The ACC mode switching recognizes when to turn off the dash cam when the vehicle is turned off. Unfortunately, I could not take advantage of this kit because it was not supported in my region.
Overall, this Hardwire Kit would have ensured my van would be able to start with the dash cam still running while monitoring the car battery, so as not to stress the battery. If I had the option, though, I would have turned off the automatic ACC mode switching because I like having the cameras on all the time. With recent car thefts and some frequent break-ins in my area, it is nice to utilize this as a form of house surveillance too.

I pretty much followed the quick start guide to properly install the 70mai Dash Cam 4K A810 Lite, especially because I have not had a dash cam in a long time. The installation was pretty straightforward, even offering tips on how not to mess up setting up the rear camera backwards. There were a lot of diagrams also showing the best spots on the windshield to install the main camera. The setup for the 70mai Dash Cam 4K A810 Lite was super easy, but cable management would be the extra step. For this test, I did the absolute bare-bones wire-pathing around the interior frame of my van.
My last dash cam was some no-name brand one with only the main camera, and it was only shooting in probably 1080p or 720p. In 2026, the 70mai Dash Cam 4K A810 Lite contained 4K clarity at 30 FPS, along with optimized HDR. The rear camera shot 1080p at 25 FPS. The night vision was solid for both the main camera and rear camera. While I would like a wider field-of-view, the 140-degree main camera capture was not terrible.

The best part of the 70mai Dash Cam 4K A810 Lite was its compact size, making it discreet from those trying to harm the user’s vehicle in any capacity. The main camera was 91x46x24.4mm, and the rear camera was 73x41x38mm. While it was small, the buttons to turn it on and change the settings were big. I liked the physical buttons over the touch screen because the feedback is good to have, especially for people with sausage fingers.
The 70mai App was easy to connect with once installed from the App Store, and has some great features that would be quicker to switch to than on the camera. From the app, I was able to monitor live footage and take pictures, among so many other features. So, one of the great settings to have on was the coordinates watermark because if I were to get into some kind of accident where I do not know where I am, I could just share a picture or a quick video clip that has all that information.

I have to applaud 70mai for having a fast app and signal strength of the dash cam that works great within the vicinity of my vehicle. This is mostly thanks to the device’s Wi-Fi 6 transfer speeds. I could be upstairs on the other side of my house, and I can connect to the dash cam live footage from the van. It made me feel safe knowing I can quickly check around the van for any suspicious activity.
Along with the 4G Hardwire Kit, the dash cam would be able to track the user’s driving routes—making rescue easier too. The 4G Hardwire Kit ideally works for those hoping to monitor their vehicle in real time, which also includes instant collision alerts and GPS walking navigation in crowded lots. While I would love these additional options, the core 70mai Dash Cam 4K A810 Lite sufficed and did its job.

The speed watermark is equally great for contesting speeding tickets, though I am usually someone who drives within the speed limits of the road. But still, this is a great setting to have proof in case! Another common driving rule many people break is distracted driving. This is why 70mai thought to put voice controls (ie. for taking a quick photo). Unfortunately, I like to blast music in my vehicle, so I had to turn down the music a bit for the dash cam to pick up exactly what I was saying. The voice is loud enough to confirm what you requested it to do, but can be spotty at times.
I thought the 70mai Dash Cam 4K A810 Lite was wonderful all around. Even though this device came in a small form factor, it offered high-class security and ease-of-access settings and setup. The small size made sure it did not take up too much room on my windshield. Even without being able to test the Hardwire Kit or test the supercapacitor in extreme climates, I was satisfied with this dash cam out of the box. For $149.99, I would recommend the 70mai Dash Cam 4K A810 Lite kit to anyone—you just might want to buy a bigger SD card, though.
