Everyone needs a good webcam nowadays. Whether it’s content creators looking to upgrade their kit, or remote workers joining meetings, a good picture can be a sign of quality and professionalism. EMEET has been in the game a long time, and its latest offering, the EMEET SmartCam C960 Ultra, offers a great camera with a solid build. It looks stylish, the performance is solid, and the price point is just right. While it’s not perfect, with a mic that doesn’t live up to the rest of the package, it’s a really good camera for anyone looking for an upgrade.

Let’s run through the specs first. The EMEET SmartCam C960 Ultra reaches up to 4k30FPS and 1080P60FPS. The picture looks clear and crisp, especially in low light. That’s largely due to the SONY 1/1.5” sensor the camera is using, allowing more light in than most webcams. This allows it to perform well even in low-light situations.
“The 960 Ultra also features a 0.2 s ultra-fast autofocus. It switches focus back and forth incredibly quickly, always focusing on the right subject.”
I primarily record videos in the basement, where low light thrives. I’ve used a ring light for years to help keep quality up when recording. Even without the ring light on, the image is clear and doesn’t have a ton of visual noise. It looks even better with the ring light on. The image is consistently bright and easy to see, and even if the quality can be a tad fuzzy, it’s really impressive how well it holds up. The only image flaw is that, depending on lighting, I could come across more red than in reality. Tweaking the settings in the software helped with that, though.
The 960 Ultra also features a 0.2 s ultra-fast autofocus. It switches focus back and forth incredibly quickly, always focusing on the right subject. Putting my hand or another object up near the camera quickly sharpens on the new object. Removing it swaps the focus back to the broader image, with focus jumping back and forth without issue.

The C960 Ultra also comes wrapped in an aluminum alloy housing. The metal feels cool to the touch even after extended use, never heating up to uncomfortable levels. Even after using it for a few hours, it didn’t overheat and shut off. The best part of the physical design is the shutter. Where other cameras have digital ways to turn off, the C960 Ultra’s ring can be turned to actually block the lens. It’s great for privacy, where I’d rather know the shutter is closed because there’s an analog way to do it.
Set up is also a breeze, easily usable in almost any situation. The clip is wide and sturdy, sitting comfortably on my monitor without any worry of slipping and falling. The bottom opens with teeth sitting on top, and a back clip that rests on the back of the monitor it sits on. EMEET includes a 1.5 m cable that easily reaches my computer, even on an L-shaped desk.
“Overall, the EMEET C960 Ultra is a great camera at a solid price point.”
The only major drawback of the C960 Ultra is the mic. There are two mics on the lower side of the housing, and while it can be used, it doesn’t sound the best. For a Zoom call or work meeting, it’ll get the job done, but it sounds similar to phone call quality. Content creators will still need to rely on an actual external microphone to get the job done. Given how premium the rest of the package feels, the mic just doesn’t pull the same weight.

On the software side, EMEET Studio is a fantastic partner to the C960 Ultra. There are a ton of ways to change and augment the image depending on the situation. You can leave everything set to auto and the software does a great job on its own.At the same time, you can manually set focus, exposure, white balance, brightness, and more, to get it properly adjusted to your own environment. There are also beauty filters that can be used to slim jawlines and modify smoothness, skin tone, sharpness, and clarity. EMEET Studio can also be used as a virtual camera to keep your settings consistent across applications.
Overall, the EMEET C960 Ultra is a great camera at a solid price point. At $99.99 USD, it packs a lot into it that consistently impresses. From great low-light settings to a clear and crisp autofocus and solid picture. While the mics aren’t great, the rest of the package is strong enough for content creators and remote workers alike. The EMEET C960 Ultra is a great webcam that punches well above its weight.
