Finding the best webcam for your setup is paramount. However you present yourself on screen, be it for a work presentation done remotely or a big stream, a good-looking camera can really help you stand out. Cameras, however, can be the most costly part of any setup. Enter EMEET with their SmartCam S600, a 4K webcam that is way under the $100 mark.

The EMEET SmartCam S600 is an affordable webcam, but I give the warning that this particular webcam is the epitome of “you get what you pay for.” There are acceptable uses for the camera, but it’s important to remember that a 4K camera doesn’t automatically make it high quality.

Creative Live! Cam Sync 4K Webcam

There was a time in home computing when a webcam was as commonplace as the keyboard and mouse—these days, with the rise of mobile platforms and laptops with capable, built-in cameras, finding a solid webcam can be a tricky prospect. OBSBOT Tail Air Streaming Camera

OBSBOT has released a new smart camera that is arguably its most versatile to date, the OBSBOT Tail Air. The camera can be used in virtually any scenario, whether live streaming or recording and doesn’t need to be tethered to a computer to do it. It is everything that the OBSBOT Tiny and the original OBSBOT Tail has to offer with a lot of really cool quality-of-life upgrades.

The OBSBOT Tail Air’s $499 USD price tag, however, will not be quick to encourage you to fill your setup with extra units. If you want to get a camera, though, that will be your camera operator for you as you parkour, skate or do anything else with a lot of movement and do a good job doing it, then this is worth a buy, despite the original’s oft-superior specs. Its brand-new features make it feel like a whole new camera.

The OBSBOT Tail Air isn’t an increase in virtually any specs from the original OBSBOT Tail, but its increased portability and new quality of life features make it feel like an upgrade nonetheless.

Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra Webcam

Over the past few years, we’ve seen a lot of companies make big claims about having the next step in the evolution of webcams. Few have lived up to the hype. Razer has made some of the biggest claims yet with the latest camera in their Kiyo series, the Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra. While simply adding extra words to their existing products feels a bit lazy, like naming Street Fighter games in the 90s, the effort they have put into their new webcam is anything but.

Now the question is, is it worth the price? $299.99 USD is a big number for people shopping for a webcam, but let’s be realistic. If you’re looking for a camera whose quality rivals DSLR and mirrorless cameras, a $150 price point just isn’t in the cards. The Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra’s price is right in line with its closest competitor, the Elgato Facecam Pro, and is less than a third of the price of a decent quality crop sensor camera that won’t give you the resolution this camera offers. Suddenly, $299.99 doesn’t seem so daunting.

Razer has made a wonderful piece of hardware that is hurt only by its continuously disappointing software. The Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra is clearly in the top tier of webcams, and I don’t see many other companies trying to compete with this quality anytime soon.

AVerMedia Mingle Bar

AVerMedia has an impressive history of making quality cameras for both business and content creation. One of their latest, the PA511D, better known as the AVerMedia Mingle Bar, is a camera built for video conferencing. It’s a complete system of camera, microphone and speaker, with connectivity solutions for whatever your setup needs.

The AVerMedia Mingle Bar will run you $599.99 USD. It is a great price for a business video conferencing device. The video quality is also a step above most other business solutions, be it for regular conferences or presentations. But do not make the mistake of picking this up as a content creator, thinking you are getting AVerMedia’s next generation of webcam. It is too big for your setup, and the audio features that factor into the overall cost are not useful for you. Now, if they do release a “camera only” version of this at a price point of about $200 cheaper, they may have a serious contender on their hands.

The AVerMedia Mingle Bar is a fantastic business solution for video conferencing, with audio and video is a big step up from anything you likely have in your office today in a single device at a price point that is very easy to swallow. I’d avoid this as an individual user since it might be overpowered for your needs.

HyperX Vision S Webcam

A lot of the major players in peripherals for content creators have been exploring expanding their portfolio in terms of what products they offer to their customers. HyperX, one of the biggest names in gaming peripherals with microphones, keyboards, mice and more. Yet after all of their time in the game, they’ve never offered a webcam… that is until now. The company has introduced the HyperX Vision S webcam, a sleek webcam with high-end tech. 

The camera is also the best value of this latest generation of high performance webcams. While other webcams in this category go for up to $300, The HyperX Vision S Webcam is available for $199.99 USD, a considerable drop in price compared to the competition without a considerable drop-off in quality. The Vision S is a spectacular first camera from HyperX and a must-buy for people looking to remain in the HyperX ecosystem.  

The HyperX Vision S Webcam is further proof that webcams are back as a primary option for content creators and is the best value of the new breed of webcams on the market.
