Brutalist Review Style (Version 2)

There’s no better device to make you feel more productive than you really are than a mechanical keyboard. There’s something about typing on one and hearing the click of every key entry that makes any task feel a little more important. That’s without taking into consideration how well they work for gaming. Overall, it’s one of the most essential parts of any rig. With that in mind, buying the right keyboard is a stressful task for some. Thankfully, Logitech has you covered with the G413 Silver mechanical gaming keyboard, balancing a study frame with a quality build for one of the best keyboards on the market.

Starting with the body, the Logitech G413 Silver is a solid aluminium alloy metal frame, which makes the keyboard a little heavier but also gives the user a feeling of quality. There’s no doubt that the G413 feels well built and ready to withstand frivolous use.  The keys themselves are illuminated with Roamer-G lighting as well. While it’s fairly common for most keyboards now, the automatic illumination is enough to allow users to see the keys in the dark without too much brightness. The keys utilize Roamer G switches, which have become a staple with Logitech products. These allow the keys to have a faster reaction time than the Cherry MX Browns they’re compared to.

On top of that, the Logitech G413 Silver is a simple plug and play set up. There is some optional software anyone can install, but for the most part, set up is simple, so even the most uninformed tech consumer can purchase a quality device without the fear of a complicated installation.  Customization is a little limited, but the intensity and pattern of the lighting can sync up with certain games and the function keys are also reprogrammable. But since this isn’t really an RGB keyboard, users are a limited.  Despite that, the Logitech G413 is extremely functional, and whether they’re used for Sailaway or a more intense gaming experience, the keys hold up during an intense session.

However, things aren’t completely perfect with the G413 Silver. To start, it takes up two USB ports, which can be a pain and may require the user to rearrange their current set up.  It’s also weird to see a keyboard of this calibre without dedicated media keys. Instead, these functions are relegated to the function keys, which in the grand scheme of things isn’t a huge deal, but it’s inconvenient enough to mention.

Overall, the Logitech G413 Silver mechanical gaming keyboard is a stylish, durable machine that’s sure to impress anyone who uses it. Though it might lack a lot of customizability, the build quality is enough for casuals or intense users alike. This is definitely a keyboard to keep on your radar.
