Logitech PRO X 60 Wireless Gaming Keyboard

Logitech continues to expand its peripherals lineup every year, bringing top-quality headphones, keyboards, mice and more. This time, it has introduced a 60 percent keyboard that takes advantage of some of its latest technological advances, all compacted into a smaller form factor. Logitech aims to target gamers who need a keyboard fit for any setup while delivering pro-level gaming performance. This is the Logitech PRO X 60 wireless gaming keyboard.

The company highlighted its collaboration with over 70 professional athletes, leveraging their insights and expertise to craft this innovative design. Logitech noted that many competitive gamers need a keyboard that is easy to carry and includes all essential keys for gameplay. As someone who plays Valorant and League of Legends semi-competitively, I can honestly say this was a solid grab-and-go keyboard.

The box for the Logitech PRO X 60 included a well-designed carrying case—perfect for LAN tournaments. The semi-hard case could store everything needed: the PRO X 60 gaming keyboard, the USB LIGHTSPEED wireless adapter, the USB-A to USB-C charging and data cable, and even a slot for the swappable Logitech G keycap. It was as intelligently designed as my Nintendo Switch case, minus all the pockets for physical game copies.

“The Logitech PRO X 60 is a 60 percent gaming keyboard that combines portability with pro-level gaming performance.”

the Logitech PRO X 60 features two types of GX optical switch options: linear and tactile. (Sorry, clicky switch users.) For this testing, I used one with linear optical switches. Despite my bias for tactile switches, these linears felt decent. Each keystroke was silky smooth, requiring minimal pressure to transfer from one key to the next—no need to press down too hard. Like most top-of-the-line keyboards, the PRO X 60 gaming keyboard has double-shot PBT keycaps. Even after months of use, none of the text has rubbed off.

The biggest disappointment with the keycaps on the Logitech PRO X 60 was how loose the keys felt. They didn’t feel as if they were about to fall out, but they were definitely on the jiggly side. On a personal note, this gaming keyboard is also on the louder side. It’s not the ideal candidate for late-night, silent grinding if you live with others.

Looking deeper into the design of the Logitech PRO X 60, I liked almost everything about it. One of my peeves is when buttons are placed haphazardly and aren’t positioned for easy access—for example, a volume button or roller on the right side instead of the left side, closer to my left hand, which I prefer to use for quick adjustments. For left-handed gamers, this may be an even bigger adjustment.

“The Logitech PRO X 60 comes with a well-designed carrying case, making it perfect for LAN tournaments or travel.”

Putting the gaming aspects aside, this was a reliable, mobile keyboard that was great for working at cafés and airports. My only gripe is how flashy it can look with the RGB lighting and bright magenta base colour! The keyboard also comes in black and white.

While this is a great wireless keyboard that takes full advantage of 2.4 GHz LIGHTSPEED technology, it’s versatile enough to be used as a wired keyboard too. However, wires can take up more desk space, potentially reducing mouse space—so you may miss fewer chances to hit a 360 no-scope in Call of Duty Warzone.

In addition to a direct wireless connection via the LIGHTSPEED dongle, the keyboard can also be used wirelessly through Bluetooth. The Bluetooth connections were a bit spotty and didn’t work with certain laptops and desktops. The battery is rechargeable and expected to last up to 65 hours on a single charge. After extensive testing, I found the battery life lasted several days. For someone who uses their computer about five to 10 hours a day (including idle time), it could even last almost a week without a recharge!

“Priced at $179.99, the PRO X 60 targets serious gamers, offering customization ideal for games that require speed and accuracy.”

As usual with Logitech, the G HUB desktop app allows users to customize button mappings and RGB lighting. The app streamlines all devices, making it easier to customize each Logitech device quickly within one platform. With the PRO X 60 gaming keyboard, this model introduces KEYCONTROL.

Due to the 60 percent form factor, users can customize what each key does. KEYCONTROL offers features that elevate keyboard customization, tying it into the broader Logitech ecosystem. Users can set keys to launch apps, pause or play music, copy/paste or quickly collapse windows to the desktop—a perfect feature when you need to stay in the game past bedtime.

KEYCONTROL is also ideal for setting up powerful macros, by menu shortcuts and quick spell slots across multiple layers of the keyboard. Most of the time, I rebind keys within games like Valorant and League of Legends. Occasionally, I’ll also rebind keys in games like World of Warships or Company of Heroes 3. I found it helpful to speed up buys by remapping macros in FPS games. It’s impressive that KEYCONTROL offers up to 15 assignments per key, which makes sense given the compact form factor.

With a $179.99 price tag, this keyboard is for serious gamers or those with a steady job. The Logitech PRO X 60 gaming keyboard is on the higher end of the market. For the everyday gamer, this may be overkill, as the KEYCONTROL function is likely best suited for MOBA or RTS games where speed and accuracy are critical.

For someone who plays mostly FPS games, though, extra key mappings and rebinds aren’t essential on a 60 percent format—unless a game has numerous skills and commands like Spectre Divide. The carrying case is a nice addition, enhancing mobility and organization. The compact format saves space, and for those seeking the ultimate versatile option, this is an ideal investment in a gaming keyboard.
