After being teased with a one-second preview yesterday, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, has released a new trailer on ABC's Good Morning America. The basic plot of Rogue One is that bounty hunters are trying to steal the plans for the Empire's recently built superweapon, which fans know as the famous Death Star.
Set before the events of Episode IV, The rebel forces are in their infancy and are quickly being taken out by masses of Stormtroopers. It's up to our newly introduced female protagonist bounty hunter, Jyn Erso (played by actor Felicity Jones), to infiltrate the Imperial Stronghold and steal the Death Star's plans while fending off forces from all sides.
X-wings, AT-AT's and even Donnie Yen using stylish martial arts are featured in the action portions of the teaser. The tone of the movie seems darker than a traditional Star Wars film which can be refreshing for fans looking for something different out of this ever-expanding universe.
Whether or not the rumors of a young Han Solo will star in the film have yet to be confirmed.
The movie is set to release sometime in December and will be directed by Gareth Edwards, known for his work on the 2014 Godzilla and 2010's Monster.
