Star Wars, specifically, Battlefront, to newer players, usually translates to an online-multiplayer focused affair, which unfortunately also tends to include terms such as microtransaction and loot boxes. Thankfully, the original Star Wars: Battlefront title from 2004 is now available for purchase through GOG and Steam.

The release of the original Star Wars: Battlefront on modern machines, coincides with Star Wars Day, which takes place on May 4th. Unlike EA’s interpretation of what Battlefront should be, the original title, although primarily multiplayer-focused, 2004’s Star Wars: Battlefront also features a single player mode, in addition to the more typical Conquest mode and instant action game types. The title features both LAN and online multiplayer options for up to 64 players. It should be noted, that the original PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions of the game, only featured 32 players, in other words, the PC version is the ideal choice for this current release.

Star Wars: Battlefront is available for Purchase on GOG and Steam for $8.49, respectively. For those wanting to perhaps play the game on a console, the title also recently saw release on the Xbox Live Marketplace, in April of this year, for $5.99. Readers interested in other Star Wars title can look forward in finding more deals on older games within the series on Xbox Live this coming weekend, in celebration of Star Wars Day.
