‘Black Mirror’s’ fifth season hits Netflix on June 5th, 2019, and a trailer hinting at various plot points has been released.
‘Black Mirror’ is a British-made show brought to Netflix after its second season, and is devoted to exploring the dark side of technology. This new season will only contain three episodes, but they appear to be playing host to a wide variety of plots, including a girl being influenced by an Alexa-like robot to pursue an idol career, a couple having commitment issues, and what looks like it could be a virtual reality fighting game. Somewhere along the line, Miley Cyrus will appear as an online pop star.
Aside from her, this season will feature the talents of Anthony Mackie, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Topher Grace, Damson Idris, Andrew Scott, Nicole Beharie, Pom Klementieff, Angourie Rice, Madison Davenport, and Ludi Lin. Co-creators Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones’ last effort was a special choose-your-own-adventure piece of interactive fiction ‘Black Mirror: Bandersnatch’, the creation of which necessitated this season being pushed back.
With the release date only a few weeks away, fans won’t need to wait long to gaze into the next ‘Black Mirror’ spectacle.
