After several months of delays, From Software’s cult classic Metal Wolf Chaos XD will finally reach American shores August 6th.

Devolver Digital promised a couple E3s ago to finally bring this much-requested 2004 Xbox action game overseas for the first time, and in just over a month they’ll make good on that promise. Devolver and From have partnered with developer General Arcade to modernize Metal Wolf Chaos with updates to the game including upgraded visual fidelity, refined controls and gameplay, a new save system, and 4K plus 16:9 support for modern displays. Still, expect a stiff challenge from the title’s terrorist tanks.

This formerly hard-to-find game has become a legend online due to circulation through screenshots, videos, and playthroughs. It’s not hard to see why once you witness its patriotic glory: you play as President Michael Wilson defends the nation against a full-scale rebellion led by Vice-President Richard Hawk and his mechanized legions. As the 47th President of the United States, it is your sworn duty to take your country back by any means necessary and end this terrorist threat! Your missions will take you across iconic American landscapes including the Brooklyn Bridge, the Grand Canyon, and the front steps of the White House. Battle in your advanced mech, Metal Wolf, which is armed to the teeth and capable of wielding its full armoury at once. With gameplay borrowing heavily from From Software’s generally more serious Armoured Core series, this game is a treat.

You’ll get your chance to “mech” America great again (their words, not mine) on August 6th. You can pre-order Metal Wolf Chaos XD now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam for $24.99 USD to receive a bonus colour palette.
