Pokemon Diamond and Pearl has a new name with new features.

The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo have dropped big news with the new trailer for revamped versions of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The new versions will be called Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl. Both games are set to release on November 18, 2021. The changes aren’t just a remaster for an increase in graphics quality, there’s some great new features. Read on until the end for some bonus news!
Players will start the game with a special item known as a “Pokétch”, which will contain a number of useful apps for your journey. The Pokémon game has gotten the iOS and Android update for an app store. One of the great features of the Pokétch is it allows players to ask wild Pokémon for help to clear obstacles, like cutting down trees blocking the path. Traditionally, you would need the Pokémon in your inventory to utilize these skills, but this makes it a lot simpler.
Another sweet new highlight is that players can hang out and walk their Pokémon at Amity Square in Hearthome City. They can take up to six Pokémon and take photos and video using the Nintendo Switch capture system. It’s perfect for sharing your awesome and cute Pokémon amongst your friends, on top of bonding with your Pokémon.
“Poffins” are a staple of snacks from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, which give your Pokémon characteristics like “Coolness” and “Cuteness”. The purpose of doing this is to receive a higher score in the Pokémon’s version of a beauty pageant called “the Visual Evaluation of Super Contest Shows”. The new addition in this later iteration of the games is that Poffins can now be created in Amity Square as well as Poffin House.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus has also received a release date for next year on the Switch: Friday, January 28, 2022. This game seems like a blend of Pokémon Snap and the typical Pokémon games as there is some combat, but more so for the sake of research and surviving the wilds. This game occurs in the Hisui region, or more commonly known as the Sinnoh region, before the established towns found in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl were built. This game will definitely be one you don’t want to miss with its unique story and gameplay.
