On September 7th, at its ‘Far Out’ event, Apple announced the release of the new Apple Watch Ultra.
The Watch Ultra perfectly aligns with some leaked details but also comes with a few unexpected features that elevate it even further. For example, the Watch Ultra sports a titanium case that wraps around the edge of the display to not only protect it but give it a luxurious look and feel. Plus, the display uses sapphire crystal for an extra level of durability, so you don’t have to worry as much about bumps and scratches.
While the past Watches have been simple, opting for as few buttons as possible, Apple has also updated the Watch Ultra with a new action button that can be customized to activate different features. The digital crown has been updated for the Ultra to be more rugged, and will not work while wearing gloves.
On the battery front, Ultra sports a behemoth of a battery. It can last up to 36 hours, and with new optimization software coming later this year, it could potentially stretch all the way up to 60 hours. This is easily the biggest battery that Apple has ever put into one of its watches, and it goes to show just how much they’re willing to invest in making this the best watch yet. The Ultra also sports three microphones and two speakers for better clarity in outdoor voice calls.
“Inspired by explorers and athletes from around the world, we created an entirely new category of Apple Watch designed for new and extreme environments — it’s the most rugged and capable Apple Watch yet,” said Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer. “Apple Watch Ultra is a versatile tool that empowers users to push their boundaries with adventure, endurance, and exploration.”
Watch Ultra is the perfect device for when you want to explore the great outdoors without worry. With its improved GPS system and automatic background tracking, Watch Ultra can help you find your way back if you get lost. And if you do get lost, you can activate its 86-decibel siren to help others find you.
The Ultra is the perfect tool for scuba divers. It comes with a built-in depth gauge and is certified for use as a dive computer.
The Watch Ultra is available for pre-order starting today and will be ready for your next diving adventure on September 23rd!
