Apple Introduces New Emoji With Latest iOS Update 2

Apple proudly announced today that Apple product users will have a slew of new ways to express themselves with a batch of new emoji becoming available.

Apples newly released iOS 12.1 software update is confirmed to bring over seventy new emojis to Apple’s smart devices. Among these new emojis, there will be characters with various hair lengths and colours, animals, sports and food. These new emoji are already being made available for today’s developer and public beta previews of the new software firmware and will be rolling out in future updates for iOS, macOS and watchOS.

The new emojis include softball, frisbee and lacross along with some fun new animals such as the llama, mosquito, swan and raccoon. With these additions, the amount of usable emoji across iOS, watchOS and macOS has already reached into the thousands.

Apple aims to help users all over the world to communicate through their own personalized emoji, regardless of what the topic is. Currently, Apple is working with the Unicode Consortium in order to add more disability-themed emoji to the keyboard for Unicode 12.0, slated for release in 2019.

The Apple iOS 12 update is currently available and free to update across iOS devices.
