Assassin's Creed Could Potentially Go To Japan After Infinity According To Big Fan Speculation 2

Throughout the 15 year history of the Ubisoft Assassin’s Creed series, the Creed has visited big historical periods in important settings, and according to rumours, Japan might be the next setting.

As the 15 year anniversary is still well underway, and the next game in the series, Assassin’s Creed Infinity, (as reported last summer) has yet to have nearly any details revealed besides a ‘free-to-play’ type model, this has not stopped massive fan speculation about the setting of the next unnamed title. The rumour mill has suggested Assassin’s Creed Japan should be actualized for years now, and these rumours have begun to reheat as of late.

Assassin'S Creed Could Potentially Go To Japan After Infinity

The massive Ubisoft series is absolutely not a stranger to rumors, there have been many, with a potential Aztec time period revisit being rumored from GameRant and backed on the Assassin’s Creed Reddit page, to this latest resurface of what fans have been clamouring for, an animus ride to Feudal Japan. Jeff Grubb, host of a podcast titled “Jeff Grubb’s Game Mess,” also stoked the proverbial flames on his podcast with co-host Mike Minotti, claiming the Japan setting could be included in the live service Infinity as opposed to a standalone release.

What’s most interesting, is to spark these rumors — very similar to that Unreal Engine LoZ: Ocarina of Time trailer, which was backed by a tech demo for the Wii U by Nintendo — a fan simply known as TeaserPlay has uploaded a concept trailer in the Unreal Engine 5, for a potential look at the ‘new’ Assassin’s Creed game.

Although the video utilizes iconic Creed music with a feudal flair, and a wealth of Creed sayings and teachings, the real value lies in the actualization of the project. The bouncy swagger of the Assassin’s walk, down to the design of their robes, this concept trailer has enough juice to refuel the Feudal Japan rumour easily. But this is a fan made trailer, and as such should not be taken as any type of formal announcement from Ubisoft.

Despite all of the hype surrounding the series, fans will need to wait until the Ubisoft Forward event scheduled to take place on September 10th on a TBD platform.
