Oscar-winning Korean film Parasite is getting the graphic novel treatment through hundreds of storyboard drawings made by director Bong Joon Ho during production.

The product page over Grand Central Publishing details over 304 pages will be polished with dialogue to create a readable experience.

Parasite : A Graphic Novel in Storyboards will also retell the grim tale of an impoverished family who slowly infiltrate a wealthy family’s lives. 

Joon Ho’s black-and-white panels were drawn by hand to show the movie “in its entirety” and will include a foreword. Readers also glimpse a collection of concept art and behind-the-scenes set photos.

The Korean black comedy thriller became critically acclaimed since it screened at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival and holds a near-perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.

It also made history at the 92nd Academy Awards, winning four awards for Best Picture, Best Directing, Best International Feature Film and Best Original Screenplay. Parasite is the first foreign-language film to win the category for Best Picture.

Joon-Ho is known for his previous direction and writing for The Host, Snowpiercer and Okja while Parasite lead Song Kang-Ho has appeared in the former two.

Parasite : A Graphic Novel in Storyboards can be pre-ordered online through Grand Central other online retailers including Amazon, Google Play and Apple Books. 

It will be released on May 19, 2020.
