It’s about that time of year again. Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) has revealed its schedule for the upcoming AGDQ 2024 event, and it brings the heat with some hellish speed runs.
Each year, fans are treated to a Winter marathon speed-running extravaganza from Games Done Quick, an organization steeped in charitable donations to entertain for a good cause. This year, they’re raising money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The foundation’s mission statement is “A world where cancer is preventable, detectable and beatable for all,” and more information regarding the supportive charity can be found on their official website.
But, back to the exciting event, Awesome Games Done Quick 2024 is bringing a slew of difficult titles and rulesets to beat them in blindingly fast fashion. Last year, fans were treated to a Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice run blindfolded by Mitchriz, and this year, there are many more feats to witness in the AGDQ 2024 live stream. It comes to the surprise of absolutely no one that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is already on the slate to be crushed.
There are some speed-running staples on the schedule, such as Super Mario 64 any percent and Donkey Kong Country 101%, but there are some new additions aside from Tears of the Kingdom and Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake. There are also more niche offerings, with a Virtual Hydlide and The Simpsons: Skateboarding on January 18.
How to Attend Awesome Games Done Quick 2024
Fans can attend the event by heading over to the official website and checking out the details. The event will be held in the Wyndham Grand in downtown Pittsburgh, and information to attend in person can be found here. Aside from that, fans outside of Pittsburgh or unwilling to make the trek to the hotel can simply head to the official GDQ Twitch channel to watch all the action. Awesome Games Done Quick 2024 takes place from January 14 until January 18, and the full schedule can be found on their website.
