Banner Saga 3 Stretch Goals Announced 1

Banner Saga 3 has enjoyed a successful Kickstarter campaign, and the news has just gotten better for fans. Now that Banner Saga 3 reached its funding goals, developer Stoic has unveiled a slew of stretch goals.

The confirmed stretch goals are a new survival mode, that pits 6 characters against hoards of enemies, playable Dredge, Ubin becoming a playable character and a new game mode called Eternal Arena that mixes tactics with quick play challenges. This news comes after Stoic announced their Kickstarter, which had a goal of $200,000 reached $416,986.

“The support from backers and the community has been amazing, and it’s humbling to know that RTS fans around the world really want to support us”, said co-founder and Technical Director at Stoic John Watson in a press release. “The additional funds will be invested into bringing as much of our intended vision to the final game and rewarding our backers’ support with an unforgettable experience to conclude this epic tale”.

Banner Saga first hit the scene in 2012 when the first title went to Kickstarter. It launched in 2014 to critical and industry acclaim taking home the Game Developer’s Choice for “Best Debut” along with many other awards that year. Currently, Banner Saga sits at an 80 on Metacritic. The sequel, Banner Saga 2 enjoyed a similar fate in 2016, taking home the Pocketgamer “Gold Award”. Along with that, it sits at an 80 on Metacritic. Those are big shoes to fill for the third instalment of the series, but the Texas based studio Stoic have the financial backing to make something memorable.

Banner Saga 3 will be published by Versus Evil, who’ve been attached to both previous games. Versus Evil have published titles across all platforms. Recently, they’ve published titles like Armikrog, and Guild of Dungeoneering. Their goal is to allow indie developers to be successful both financially and creatively.
