Battlefield 2042 Fully Commits To A Positive Play Space For Combatants

The online interactive space continues to change and with Battlefield 2042, the developers reveal “The Battlefield Community Charter” to ensure this.

Since the release of Battlefield 1942, DICE has remained committed to serving the Battlefield community. This remains a priority through Battlefield 2042, with Positive Play becoming a huge community expectation through their Community Charter.

The charter remains steadfast in assuring every player, old and new, has a place free of individuals who play the game online just to ‘troll’ or ‘grief’ others. Today, the release of this community guideline promotes positivity and inclusion for all you enter the Battlefield.

Expectations of the Community Charter include:

  • Treat Others as They Would Like to be Treated – Squad up and play the objective, together. We won’t tolerate players who negatively disrupt or engage in harmful behavior towards others, as many online games have been known for in the past.
  • Keep Things Fair – Be on the right side of the fight. If you see players breaking the rules, report them to ensure quality play for all.
  • Share Appropriate Content – Don’t fight dirty. Make sure whatever content you’re sharing is appropriate for Battlefield players, there’s no room for lewd content.
  • Keep Things Legal – In Battlefield, the objective is to play the game, and not participate or encourage in dangerous or illegal activities.

The focus on Positive Play gives community members the ability to stop harassment or volatility with ease even before it starts with features that allow players to:

  • Block unwanted interactions from in-game.
  • An always active filter that sensors the profane.
  • The ability to disengage entirely from voice or text chat.
  • Reporting players is streamlined to being available in-game.
  • Through the Battlefield portal, playuers can apply bans to others from the communities that they have created.

Reporting unsportsmanlike conduct is easier than having a referee this time around, as in Battlefield 2042 they’ve focused on the ease of the process, allowing players to not miss game time. Following these steps is how to report a player that is breaking bad:

  1. From the Player and Squad List or Social Menu, select the player you wish to report
  2. Select Report
  3. Select the reason for your report
    1. Abusive Text Chat, Abusive Voice Chat, Cheating/Exploiting, Gameplay Sabotage, Offensive Player Name, or Harassment
  4. Select Send Report
    1. You can add an optional comment if necessary

With all of these improvements the Community Charter makes to the game, Battlefield 2042 aims to be an experience like no others with disallowing players to remain unaccountable for poor actions.

For more information, players can read the Community Charter guidelines here, or visit the Battlefield 2042 website for more information. See you on the Battlefield!
