Disney has revealed a fresh look at the upcoming series The Book of Boba Fett, with a brand new TV spot and pair of character posters.
The TV spot gives a brief look at a few new scenes, including what appears to be Boba Fett recovering in a Bacta Tank as Temuera Morrison’s voice-over says “Left for dead on the sands of Tatooine.” Presumably, this hints that the new series might explore just how Boba Fett survived falling into the Sarlacc Pit at the end of Return of the Jedi, one of the biggest lingering questions about the character’s return. You can see the TV spot down below, followed by the official description of The Book of Boba Fett.
“‘The Book of Boba Fett,’ a thrilling Star Wars adventure teased in a surprise end-credit sequence following the Season 2 finale of “The Mandalorian,” finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.”
Meanwhile, the two character posters released put the spotlight on Boba Fett and his ally Fennec Shand. Despite the show being only a month away from release, Disney is still holding details close to the chest, and it’s strange to think that we don’t have any idea of what other characters might appear.
The Book of Boba Fett premieres exclusively on Disney+ on December 29. Disney also announced that the series will consist of seven episodes, with a new one premiering each week. This means that Boba Fett clocks in at one episode less than The Mandalorian, which had eight episodes in both its seasons. At the moment, Disney hasn’t announced if there will be a second season of The Book of Boba Fett.
