If you fancy a more behind the scene’s look at one of this year’s most unique games, developer Fullbright Company will offer commentary tracks for the game’s next free update.

In an interview with Rock, Paper, Shotgun, Fullbright’s writer and designer Steve Gaynor explained the studio’s plans for the supremely well-received adventure title Gone Home.

“We’re working on a commentary mode right now, and we’re going to release that as free DLC,” said Gaynor. “If you have it on Steam, you’ll just get it. We don’t have a date for it yet, but it’ll be relatively soon. We’re aiming for the short-term, and we’ve already recorded most of it.”

Continuing the commentary trend Valve has introduced in many of their titles, the audio tracks will be strewn about the house in the form of icons. They’ll feature “background stuff,” from the game’s creators, voice actress Sarah Grayson, lead singer of Heavens to Betsy Corin Tucker, and Sleater-Kinney, whose music inspired many of the game’s themes.

“You’ve got the four of us talking day-to-day, but you also have people who contributed their own presence and identity through their voice or music. That’s really exciting to me,” said Gaynor.

The commentary tracks will add a really nice touch to the game, and it’ll be interesting to hear where the creators inspirations came from heading into development.
