DC Shows off a First Look at Black Adam in the Film's Official Trailer

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s 15-year-long journey to play his dream role of Black Adam is finally coming to a close with the release of the film’s first trailer which shows off the DC’s antihero in brutal action.

The difference between Black Adam and other superhero characters is that he’s very willing to kill, which he outright admits in the trailer in response to Hawkman’s stating that “Heroes don’t kill people.” The trailer dives deep into that by showing Black Adam‘s willingness to be the judge, jury, and executioner by showing him after the fact throwing someone up a couple 100 feet into the air after being attacked by them, the impact most likely killing him.

That’s not the only look at his powers we get as the most electrifying man in sports entertainment’s portrayal gets even more electrifying by blasting a bit of thunder. The trailer also shows off his flight, super strength, and invulnerability like Shazam which Black Adam is a spinoff of and the antithesis of character-wise.

“I was slave until I died… then I was reborn a god. My son sacrificed his life to save me, now I kneel before no one,” Johnson’s Black Adams says in the first official trailer.

The first actual look at the film follows last year’s behind-the-scenes feature during DC Famdome which showed off shots from the film and costumes, concept art, and the film’s cast talking about the film. Speaking of which, Black Adam‘s cast also includes Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate. All of which are all a part of the film’s current-day version of the Justice Society of America.

Black Adam is set to electrify theatres on October 21st, the film is being directed by The Rock’s past collaborator, Jaume Collet-Serra who directed the Jungle Cruise.
