The team over at Behaviour Interactive has uncorked a vial of what’s to come during the Dead by Daylight 8th anniversary presentation, and fans have been given a hoard of info regarding 2024 and beyond.
Dead by Daylight has reached its eighth year in circulation, and the team at Behaviour Interactive has updated their ground-breaking title with inclusions (like Nic Cage as a survivor) and collaborations (like Silent Hill‘s Pyramid Head) to keep the asymmetrical horror experience running like a well-oiled machine. In its eighth year, Behaviour Interactive has decided to pull out all the stops with two exciting upcoming collaborations: a brand new incoming game mode, an update on their upcoming Supermassive Games crossover, The Casting of Frank Stone, a new game, playable now and lastly, an announcement of a new project.
Dead by Daylight x Dungeons & Dragons

The first thing Behaviour Interactive brought to the table during their showcase is an exciting collaboration with Dungeons & Dragons. Taking a page out of the book of Stranger Things, the big bad villain added to the game for fans to take for a spin is Vecna. On top of the addition of Vecna, another D&D-based inclusion is that survivors can find chests that contain magical items, which can be deployed against this enemy.
Known as “The Lich” in DbD and for the first time ever, this arch-villain can cast spells to hurt survivors, and below is a list of all the revealed spells he can cast.
- Fly – This allows Vecna to soar above the environment, giving him free movement, and Dungeons & Dragons fans know exactly how dire that can be. Although it is brief, flying over everything and having a bird’s eye view, even for just a moment, is a big advantage.
- Flight of the Damned – This spell allows Vecna to terrorize Dead by Daylight with spectral entities that pass through obstacles and hurt survivors.
- Mage Hand – This spell lets Vecna close off escape routes by blocking passage, it can even lift objects to put in the way. It can even complete basic tasks.
- Dispelling Sphere – this scouting spell disables magical items, and reveals survivor locations that are effected by the range of the sphere.
A new setting is included in Dead by Daylight: the Forgotten Ruins. Survivors can locate seven chests in these ruins, and finding one can grant a mighty boon. Upon locating a chest, a survivor will be presented with a dice roll, and rolling a D20 will net a sweet magical item for that survivor, rolling a one however will do something else entirely, and it’s not good.

Finally, Dead by Daylight added a pair of new survivors to meet the Dungeons & Dragons theme. Fans can now play as either Baermar Uraz the human, or Aestri Yazar the elf, both play the Bard Class with new abilities that help against the Forgotten Ruins and its adversary.
Fans will be able to enter the dungeon in Dead by Daylight starting on June 3rd.
A New 2 vs 8 Mode in Dead by Daylight
Another bombshell followed the huge Dungeons & Dragons announcement that is sure to make Dead by Daylight fans happy: a new larger mode that allows players to deploy two killers and eight survivors. This new mode will replace the perk system with a class system and replace hooks with cages. While there will be other revelations and not everything has been shared during the event today, Dead by Daylight and Behaviour Interactive promise more information when their next event launches in July.
The Casting of Frank Stone Gameplay Trailer Reveal
Following the new mode announcement, Behaviour then unleashed a brand new trailer for their upcoming title set in the Dead by Daylight universe, The Casting of Frank Stone, which can be seen below.

This collaboration between Behaviour Interactive and Supermassive Games takes place in the universe of The Entity and brings the signature gameplay mechanics of The Quarry and Until Dawn. Senior Creative Director at Behaviour Interactive, Dave Richard, says, “With a completely different setting, different gameplay, and more, The Casting of Frank Stone is a way for us to fill those pages [of The Entity] in and tell a Dead by Daylight story in a way we’ve never been able to before.”
Executive Producer at Supermassive Games, Traci Tufte, says, “This is a story that aims to deliver the unexpected at every turn, and it all begins in a small town with a group of young filmmakers shooting their independent horror movie, Murder Mill.”

More information on The Casting of Frank Stone, including release date info, will be released at a later date.
Codenamed: Project T – A New Title Set in The Entity

Behaviour Interactive closed out its presentation with new information regarding their recently announced Project T, a PvE title that is still “in very early development.” In the new title, players will don the role of Trespassers, who are characters whisked to The Entity’s realm, and players must work cooperatively to fight off the new adversary menace, the Thrall and escape The Backwater.
With Project T remaining in early development, Behaviour Interactive has opened its doors for fans to get in on the literal ground floor and help with Project T‘s development before release. Aspiring Project T players can sign up for the Project T Insider Program using this link here.
What the Fog

As an added (and currently FREE) bonus, the team at Behaviour Interactive decided to bestow a bite-size variant on Dead by Daylight gameplay in the form of chibi-survivors and a lot of personality. Introducing What the Fog, a brand-new 2-person co-op roguelite game that allows fans to step into the shoes of Dwight, Claudette, or Feng Min to survive.
It’s worth noting that the first 2 million copies of What the Fog will be distributed free of charge for the Dead by Daylight early adopters, but afterwards, it will become $4.99. Fans can head to the official website for more information on how to claim a free copy!
Dead by Daylight x Castlevania
At the final bell, Behaviour Interactive dropped one last exciting tidbit. The next Dead by Daylight collaboration will be with Castlevania, but aside from a photo and confirmation, nothing else has been shared about the new collaboration.
