Dr. Disrespect Considering Taking Legal Action For Sudden Twitch Ban 1

Guy Beam, known as Dr. Disrespect on Twitch is suggesting that legal action could be made following his sudden ban from the streaming platform.

Beam, who thrived in battle royale titles like Apex Legends, Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, recently spoke to PC Gamer and stated Twitch did not specify why a ban was enacted while he was given no notice ahead.

“Well, to be honest—okay, so we got the news, you know, it was just… it was completely… it was a total shock,” Beam said. “Imagine just going to work one day and the door is closed and you can’t get inside and you’ve been told that you were fired, and you weren’t given a reason why, you know?”

Dr. Disrespect also learned about his own ban over a friend’s stream and became surprised over Twitch’s lack of explanation when it happened earlier on June 26, 2020. Millions of users who tried accessing his Twitch channel were also greeted by the notorious ghost, who appears when an account no longer exists. Strangely, Beam had reportedly signed a multi-million dollar contract with Twitch across the next few years and it’s unknown how the ban would change the agreement. His following of over four million users on Twitch are also gone with his account.

Beam continued telling PC Gamer “We are considering taking legal action,” and is working with his lawyers for a case. Despite some past incidents, including a bathroom stream and bans from racial remarks, he added that he wants to keep delivering content which improved as he did.

” I’m not a perfect person, I’ve made some mistakes. But if anybody knows me, follows me, I’ve stepped up and I’ve taken full responsibility each and every time, and behind the scenes, behind the curtains, a lot of people don’t understand how much work I’ve put into becoming a better person for myself and my family, as well as the business,” he said.

“My focus now is just continuing the momentum and returning to my chair, hanging out with the Champions Club and launching a couple fun, creative experiences. Yeah, and that’s where we’re at,” Beam added.

For Dr. Disrespect, it’s unknown if the streamer would be settling with another online platform for exclusive content. This also recently comes as Microsoft closed their Mixer platform and extended their tools to Facebook Gaming, which recently expanded with YouTube Gaming.
