Energy Hook Is Tony Hawk Meets Spider-Man

Energy Hook Is Tony Hawk Meets Spider-Man 1

Energy Hook is a game that, for better or worse, hasn’t been done before. And it’s officially coming to PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4.

The announcement came today by way of a PlayStation Blog post. The title, by Jamie Fristrom (creator of the Spider-Man 2 game), combines the joy of web swinging with the competition of extreme sports.

Like many others before it, the game began as a Kickstarter campaign, ending early June with over $40,000 raised for it. According to Fristrom’s post in the PlayStation Blog, the game has you “swing from rooftop to rooftop, pull off mid-air tricks, run along walls, and rack up points and energy for doing it. Because: it’s the future. And that’s what the extreme sports of the future look like. You have gravity beams and gravity boots and jetpacks and can do awesome stuff.”

The game is set to release in 2014. It will also be released for both the PC and Xbox One
