Fortnite To Get Price Hike In Multiple Countries For V-Bucks

Fortnite is scheduled to get a pretty hefty price increase in multiple countries next month, and Epic Games cites “economic factors” as the reasoning.

The last Fortnite picking alignment for V-bucks happened in 2021, and Epic Games has decided to increase the price again. In the UK, Canada, and Mexico, the fare for V-bucks and the Battle Bus will increase, and the price increase is scheduled for next month. The Fortnite Team has reported all of the price increases, and they can be seen below in a table.

Luckily, fans won’t have to contend with a price increase for Crew subscription pricing, and it will remain at £9.99 British Pounds, $15.99 Canadian Dollars, and $249 Mexican Pesos moving forward. The price increases will also go into effect on July 19 for smaller bundles, and the full increase will go into effect on July 27. This is after Fortnite decided to vault the Kinetic Boomerang and replace it with the Sharp Tooth Shotgun due to an issue that players were experiencing where they lose control of the weapon after rebooting.

Fans have been relating the V-bucks price increases to other exploitation issues, like the latest report from the FTC Microsoft case, which revealed PlayStation blocked Roblox due to exploitation concerns involving a younger audience. Twitter user Shade_Aurion said, “The whole industry has been exploiting kids for far too long,” with “even Fortnite is increasing the price of vbucks due to inflation on the currency they made up” on the nature of the price hikes of V-bucks.

Besides a generalized news post stating the price increases, The Fortnite Team hasn’t reached out further regarding their price increases. Fans can read up on the $520 million settlement Epic Games just had to contend with or head over to the official website for the official post in the meantime.
