Fortnite is getting into the holiday spirit with Winterfest 2022—a season of battle royale gifts!
Fortnite Winterfest is one of the major events in the game that is focused on celebrating the holiday season as well as opening in-game presidents galore! Epic Games has announced the plans for Fortnite Winterfest 2022 with some details, including its start date, time, new Islands, the rewards you will be getting, and much more.
Beginning on December 13 at 9 AM ET and continuing until January 3 at 9 AM ET, Fortnite’s Winterfest 2022 will provide all players daily free goodies. Prepare to enter several “Winterfest Wonderland” islands and unwrap 14 presents for 17 free in-game goodies—including two free outfits—throughout Winterfest.
Starting today you can go to the Winterfest Lodge to unwrap a gift every day for 14 days straight. You can earn a total of 17 items, including two outfits, two gliders, two wraps, three lobby tracks, three sprays, a pickaxe, a contrail, an emoticon, and two gliding items. Not only that, but two of them will be the Arctic Adeline Outfit and Sled Ready Guff Outfit. Epic hasn’t disclosed the names of the other awards.
A snowflake tab in the lobby leads to the Cozy Lodge. In order to open any missed presents, simply return before Winterfest concludes (Jan. 3 at 9 AM ET) at any time. You’ll also be able to complete special Winterfest Quests to secure some extra XP along the way.
Snowball launchers, which you may use in Battle Royale or Zero Build to throw snowballs and Christmas presents that you can open to earn loot, will also be unvaulted. During Winterfest 2022, they will take the place of Rocket Launcher, and Sgt. Winter will be patrolling the new Island on his special big rig. If you’re kind, you might receive a present. Just be careful not to end up on the naughty list!
Additionally, a few weeks ago, Epic invited players to submit their Islands and said that they will highlight the best ones during Winterfest 2022. These Islands have been made available for you to explore in the Winterfest Discover section until the event is complete, so you’ll have plenty of fun roaming around.
Did someone say more free stuff? All players who log into Fortnite from the Epic Games Launcher during Winterfest from Dec. 13, 2022, at 9 AM ET to Jan. 3, 2023, at 9 AM ET, can get the new Guff Gringle Outfit completely for free. You have until January 3 to redeem Guff Gringle.
And anyone who joins the Fortnite Crew before January 3 will automatically receive the reactive Chill-la-la-Llama Back Bling. The Back Bling sneezes whenever you get an elimination or open a Chest.
