Fortnite's 'wrecked' Season Brings Fallout Gear To The Game

Epic Games has announced a Fallout crossover for Fortnite’s Chapter 5 Season 3, adding iconic gear like the T-60 Power Armor to the game.

Fortnite fans, brace yourselves for an epic crossover as Chapter 5, Season 3, is set to launch on May 24, 2024. This season transports players to a post-apocalyptic desert wasteland, complete with monster trucks, massive vehicles, and an exciting collaboration with the Fallout.

Epic Games has officially confirmed that the new season will feature Fallout-themed cosmetics, including the legendary T-60 Power Armor from the Brotherhood of Steel. This collaboration comes as interest in the Fallout franchise has been renewed thanks to the Fallout Prime Video series. With the launch of next-gen updates for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, the timing could not be better; it is as if corporations coordinate to cross-promote their popular IP.

As with all Fortnite crossover events, the Fallout-themed skins and gear will only be available for a limited time, so players will have to act fast to get their hands on these coveted items. I can see these ending up on a future list of the most wanted skins down the road just by looking at the assets released.

The teaser clip released on Fortnite’s Twitter account has already given fans a glimpse of what’s to come, showing off several variations of the T-60 Power Armor and a character wielding a laser rifle, a staple weapon in the Fallout series. Eagle-eyed fans have also spotted a Fallout Combat Shotgun in the teaser, and there is speculation that a redesigned Combat Assault Rifle may also make an appearance.

But the Fallout collaboration is just one piece of the puzzle. Chapter 5 Season 3: Wrecked is shaping up to be a thrilling adventure in a desert wasteland. Datamines from the HYPEX account suggest the introduction of sand landmarks or a dedicated desert biome, as well as a steam train makeover for the map’s snaking locomotive. Rumours are also swirling about potential collaborations with Metallica, Fall Guys, and Pirates of the Caribbean, although these have yet to be confirmed.

In addition to the new cosmetics and potential crossovers, players can look forward to new events and challenges designed to keep things fresh and exciting, or at least chaotic. The scheduled downtime for the season launch is expected to begin around 2 or 3 AM EDT and last approximately four hours, with the new season going live worldwide shortly after that point.
