It’s no secret that Forza Horizon 6 is a great racing game, and PS5 fans can breathe a sigh of relief: new reports suggest it’s still coming, but now in 2027.
Playground Games revealed plans to launch Forza Horizon 6 on PS5 at a developer direct in January 2026, and today, new reports suggest the plan hasn’t changed, but the date may have. While Forza 6 has been forecast to come to PlayStation 5 in 2026, new reports suggest it may now arrive in 2027; and although PlayStation is still facing backlash for stopping physical media production, it’s apparently still hitting the console full force with a physical edition on the Sony platform. If PlayStation fans have missed it, the launch trailer for Forza Horizon 6 is below.
According to renowned Deallabs writer (and leaker) billbul-kun—who has been accurately reporting/leaking hardware and software release information—the PS5 port of the Playground Games racer won’t arrive on PlayStation until 2027. This new report directly conflicts with Playground Games’ September statement that Forza Horizon 6 would come to PlayStation 5 in 2026, as Deallabs suggests the date is January 26, 2027. The official Forza post still reads, “Forza Horizon 6 will be releasing on PS5 later this year,” at the bottom of the latest update report in September.

CGMagazine’s review of Forza Horizon 6 calls it “one of the best games of the year,” highlighting Playground Games’ focus on delivering a fun, activity-dense Japan sandbox on top of a new Horizon Festival. Forza Horizon 6 is one of those titles where critics and fans agree: the game rocks, and this new report suggests PlayStation fans may have to wait just a bit longer to get behind the wheel. According to reports, you’ll even be able to buy the physical PS5 copy on day one.
Fans should remain cautious, however. Regardless of track records, no official statement has been made regarding Forza Horizon 6’s impending release on PS5, so fans should take this news with a grain of salt until one is made.
