As gamers anxiously awaited Gamescom ONL 2026, they were finally treated to a plethora of new announcements and trailers. The first came from Genshin Impact creator HoYoverse that looks bigger and bolder than ever before.
Announced on the Opening Night Live showfloor, host Geoff Keighley described Nodus Fall as a game where “players take on the role of a weaver in a world where divine authority has crumbled and order has collapsed, and must “stand as one” to defeat mythic beings using close coordination and sharp tactics.” While the trailer was light on details, it did provide a guided look at gameplay—focusing on intense action against big bosses.
Nodus Fall looks to take heavy inspiration from the SoulsBorne series, combining a dark-fantasy aesthetic with monstrous bosses where coordination and cooperation will be tantamount to success. Similar to other HoYoverse games, Nodus Fall will give players four characters to utilize during combat, combining their skills and powers to unleash devastating attacks.
Little else was shown within the Gamescom ONL 2026 trailer, however given HoYoverse’s catalogue—which includes games including Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Honkai Impact 3rd, Tears of Themis, and Zenless Zone Zero—players can assume Nodus Fall will be a large-scale ARPG that combines exploration with deep RPG customization mechanics and a diverse cast of interesting characters. What seemed to be most present within the trailer was incredible boss fights with some truly monstrous creatures.
No details were provided on Nodus Fall’s release date or platforms. CGM will continue to provide details as they become available.
