What might have been the most exciting announcement during Gamescom ONL 2026, Wizards of the Coast gave gamers the first look at Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons.
Debuted on the Gamescom ONL 2026 show floor, Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons an original third person single-player action-adventure game set in a dark fantasy open world inspired by Dungeons & Dragons where magic is a tool that players will use creatively across systemic combat and exploration. The trailer gave players an extended look at the upcoming game, starting off by revealing a brand-new character: Tasha (voiced by Maggie Robertson), and even a terrifying encounter with a Beholder.
In Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons, players take on the role of Kaatri, voiced by Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica, Lucifer). Warlock empowers players to use magic to overcome a wide range of challenges. The trailer gave players an in-depth look on how Tasha’s powers are used for both exploration—showing how magic allows players to read, reshape and ultimately master the world around them. This extends to Kaatri combat ability, as she can alter her weapon from a blade to a devastating hammer in the middle of a combo.
Kaatri turns the environment, enemy positioning and even the weather into tactical opportunities, chaining spells together before capitalizing with her skill as a seasoned weapons master. The result is a fluid, systems-driven approach to exploration and combat, where observation and experimentation can uncover new paths, create unexpected solutions and produce spectacular combinations. In addition to this, the trailer showcased what appeared to a kind of crafting system where Kaatri uses strange natural components to augment her magical abilities.
Initially announced during The Game Awards 2025, Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and is scheduled to release in 2027.
