God of War Ragnarök DLC Announced At The Game Awards

A massive announcement regarding God of War Ragnarök came at The Game Awards tonight in the form of a new DLC, entitled God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla.

God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla is a brand-new roguelite DLC that was announced tonight at The Game Awards. Valhalla will be an epilogue to the story of Ragnarok and will follow Kratos on a journey of personal growth.

God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla will be set shortly after the conclusion of the fight against Odin and Atreus’ departure from the scene. Being accompanied by his companion head Mimir, Kratos journeys to the shores of Valhalla to face trials within his own heart and face remnants of his past.

God of War is entering a new arena in the roguelite genre, but retains all the combat that we know and love from God of War and God of War Ragnarök, and marries it with some new and exciting elements from the roguelite genre. Death is not the end in Valhalla, as defeat will simply see Kratos reawaken outside the doors to the area, ready to try again.

Newcomers need not fret if they have not completed God of War Ragnarök, as Valhalla is a separate experience from other games. Worrying about not having all the weapons fully upgraded, or abilities unlocked is not a concern, but spoilers may be in store as Valhalla is considered an extension of the series.

God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla is being made available AS A FREE DLC for players who already own a copy of God of War Ragnarök and will be available on December 12th 2023 on the PlayStation Store!
