GTA 6’s Latest Retail Listing Hints at Smarter NPCs and a Full In-Game Social Network

But We Still Haven't Seen Gameplay

GTA 6 Listing Hints At a “Larger Map” and “NPC Routines”

As the world waits for the release of Grand Theft Auto 6, any scrap of information is incredibly welcome. Despite its release in a few short months, we’ve shockingly little of the game at large, only a couple of trailers and no gameplay.

A listing for the game recently went up on Amazon Brazil, and while it’s a little sparse, it hints at gameplay features that Rockstar itself hasn’t really touched on yet. Some of these are to be expected, like “next generation graphics,” but the listing also touches on “NPC routines,” and some kind of “integrated social network” that allows players to watch viral videos, follow influencers, and uncover world events. It’s worth noting that the first trailer for GTA 6 focused heavily on showing the world through viral videos, so it could easily have been hinting at a major part of the game.

While it seems like the details have since been removed, VGC did manage to spot them early on and translate them using machine translation. Here are the full details.

  • LARGER MAP: Explore Vice City, beaches, swamps, small towns, and various regions of Leonida.
  • TWO PLAYABLE PROTAGONISTS: Switch between Jason and Lucia during the story and participate in missions as a duo.
  • A MORE VIBRANT OPEN WORLD: NPCs with their own routines, random events, interactive establishments, and a greater sense of immersion.
  • INTEGRATED SOCIAL NETWORKS: Watch viral videos, follow influencers, and discover world events through your in-game mobile phone.
  • NEXT-GENERATION GRAPHICS: Advanced lighting, dynamic weather, more natural animations, and a high level of detail in environments.”

Earlier this week, Rockstar shared pricing information for GTA 6, with the Standard Edition priced at $80 and the Ultimate Edition at $100. There has been some backlash, however, as the Ultimate Edition seems to paywall certain missions, content, and in-game shops. Additionally, the physical edition of the game at launch will be just a code in a box, although Rockstar has since said that physical disc versions will be available at a later date.

Grand Theft Auto 6 launches on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
