GTA 6 Fever Hits A Boiling Point Again, Over A Leaked Pre-Order Date Set For Next Week

Since the last GTA 6 trailer aired, fans have been clamouring for info, and reports have surfaced alleging the most-anticipated title’s pre-orders are set to go live next week.

Fans have been wrapped around the Grand Theft Auto VI rumour mill many, many times before, and with today’s leak, fans are about to take another lap. Reports have emerged online that Best Buy has leaked the game’s pre-order date, and seeing as how this is GTA 6, it’s already making the rounds on the internet (Grand Theft Auto VI is the most anticipated title, maybe ever), considering it has been over a year since trailer two was released from Rockstar Games. To remind fans what the game looks like, the trailer is inserted below.

For GTA 6‘s release, due to the intense amount of fans waiting in anticipation for the title, the day pre-orders go live can turn turbulent quickly. Websites can go down due to heavy traffic, and just general internet unhappiness and fan frustration can occur (like when Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders went live). So, the pre-order date is a pretty big deal, and that date has allegedly leaked from a content creator called Frogboyx1gaming.

During his live stream on YouTube (discovered by IGN), he appeared to receive an email from Best Buy to his affiliate account, signalling pre-orders for GTA 6 would run from May 18 until May 21. This notion has been backed by the verified @GTA6Alerts account on X (which is responsible for delivering countdown posts and news until Grand Theft Auto VI releases), and the post below, featuring alleged screenshots from Best Buy affiliate accounts (sourced from followers), can be seen below.

Fans need to note that although leaks have been accurate before, no official announcement has been made by Best Buy or, more importantly, Rockstar Games, which normally handles announcements like this in-house. So, fans should take this leak with a grain of salt until either party issues an official statement.
