It’s no secret that Helldivers 2 has had meteoric success since launching earlier in the year, and this week, Arrowhead Studios has unveiled new weaponry designed to erase the bug and bot menace.
The developers over at Arrowhead Studios have unveiled some prototype weaponry they’re ready to deploy for aspiring Super Citizens looking to make an impact for Democracy. Helldivers 2 is getting new weapons of a plasma nature, and to commemorate the occasion, Arrowhead has delivered an action-packed trailer that is hungry for fans’ eyes, as can be seen below.
With the new update, a new Helldivers 2 Warbond called “The Cutting Edge” is arriving on March 14. This is how Helldivers can earn brand new rewards along with three new primary weapons, a new stun grenade to stop advancing bots and bug forces, and a fancy new laser pistol that fires a pocket Spartan Laser to make quick work of enemies with.
New Helldivers 2 Weaponry In The Cutting Edge
- LAS-16 Sickle: A laser rifle that fires in short bursts for higher accuracy. The cherry on top is it doesn’t need reloading, but if it overheats, replacing a heatsink is simple enough.
- SG-8P Punisher Plasma: Exploding plasma rounds explode from this modified version of the Punisher shotgun with deadly effect, make sure no fellow Super Citizens are in your line of fire though or you will need to call for reinforcements.
- ARC-12 Blitzer: Shoot lightning bolts like Zeus! Or, arcs of close-range lightning with an option to charge it up to fire off powerful bolts. Careful if friendlies are near the enemy, the lightning bolts can jump and create casualties for the good guys.
- G-23 Stun Grenade: an EMP charge grenade designed to slow an enemy assault.
- LAS-7 Dagger pistol: smaller and less stopping power version of the Scythe laser rifle.
Three new armour sets have also been teased for Helldivers 2, with Super Citizens running in super slow motion in the trailer, sporting new duds set to hit the Super Credit store rotation on March 14. The new sets are called the EX-03 Prototype 3, EX-16 Prototype 16, and EX-00 Prototype X. The prototype specification proves that these sets have not been field tested before deployment.
