A Great Game Gets Better

The Exciting Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge Warbond Is Now Available

After weeks of teasing it’s finally here, the Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge premium warbond has finally arrived and super citizens can now bring new weaponry into the fray, all in the name of democracy.

Last week, Arrowhead Studios tore the curtain off the new weaponry Helldivers will be able to deploy when the Cutting Edge premium Warbond launches, and now fans have to wait no longer. The Cutting Edge is here, and aside from bringing new firepower, Warbonds bring rewards and replayability to the hostile landscape of the bug and bot-infested planets. A Warbond in Helldivers 2 is not a battle pass, but rather a way to earn rewards from playing, and unlike a battle pass, a Warbond can be equipped and removed at a whim. There is no time limit on Warbonds either, so fans don’t have to rush to complete ‘that final unlock’ before a reset.

A quick side note Helldivers 2 really doesn’t take itself seriously and has recently implemented flying bug enemy types on the surface of bug-related missions. The CEO of Arrowhead Studios, Johan Pilestedt has jokingly debunked all claims of bugs flying. Below, the Helldivers 2 propaganda can be seen in all of its glory from Arrowhead’s fearless leader.

Aside from all the hilarity that ensues on the battlefield, Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge brings three new armour sets: the EX-03 Prototype 3, EX-16 Prototype 16, and EX-00 Prototype X to the fray. They have not been tested (they are called prototypes), and they can add a layer of style to a citizen’s arsenal.

Five total new weapons were added to Helldivers 2, including the LAS-16 Sickle: A laser rifle that fires in short bursts, the SG-8P Punisher Plasma: Exploding plasma rounds explode from this modified version of the Punisher shotgun with deadly effect, the ARC-12 Blitzer: Shoot lightning bolts like Zeus! Or, arcs of close-range lightning with options, and two side weapons the G-23 Stun Grenade (which deploys an EMP charge that stifles enemy charges) and the LAS-7 Dagger laser pistol.

Fans can jump in on all the action right now in Helldivers 2. The new premium Warbond costs 1000 Super Credits (or $9.99), but it can be completely earned in-game.
