Known for creating 360-degree cameras and more, Insta360 launches the X6, a 3-in-1 camera powered by a triple-AI chip to deliver an 8K-resolution, 360-degree experience.
As the company turns 10, Insta360 announced the X6, expanding the X camera family. Launching today and available in Midnight Black and Arctic White, Insta360 has shared the specifications of the latest 360-degree camera, as it boasts a massive upgrade to the X5 camera, featuring a custom dual Sony 1/1.1” square sensor, three AI chips, four 360 omnidirectional mics, and much more.
Powered by three AI chips, the X6 is equipped with an 8-core, 3.3GHz 4nm flagship processor and two dedicated imaging chips. Compared to the X5, the three chips have 500% more computing power, 106% faster clock speed, and draw 35% less power, resulting in sharper details, brighter colours, and less noise in dark areas. Shifting to the updated sensor, the X6 utilizes custom dual Sony 1/1.1” square sensors to deliver a full 1-inch-equivalent 360 image. Lastly, the camera incorporates Dolby Vision, which adjusts each shot’s contrast and brightness by analyzing the frames, and includes 10-bit colours and over 1.07 billion recordable colours.
Highlighting the rest of the specifications, the Insta360 X6 boast a 2.32” OLED screen with 1200 nits of peak brightness, a 2600mAh Xtreme Battery, patent Star-Ridge cooling, IP68 water resistance for capturing 20m underwater, 64GB of storage, FlowState stablization and 360 Horizon Lock, NFC touch-to-connect pairing, Wi-Fi 6.0 clocking at 100MB/s for wireless files transfer and 450MB/s through USB 3.0, and Bluetooth connectivity. Shifting to the audio, the X6 includes four 360 omnidirectional windproof mics, a Hidden Engine Mic to isolate engine sound, Intelligent Audio Mode to adjust the audio quality in various surroundings, and the ability to connect to two Insta360 Mic Air or Mic Pro transmitters via Direct Connect.
Boasting upgraded specifications and features, the Insta360 X6 is a 3-in-1 camera. For those who prefer traditional recording, users can record at native 8K resolution at 50fps, while selecting clips from various angles and readjusting the frame afterward. To create a gimbal-recorded video while tracking people or objects, users can use the InstaFrame 2.0 to capture 4K footage without editing. It is compatible with the new Foldable Selfie Stick Remote Kit for tracking and POV Head Tracking to follow their eyeline. Lastly, the single-lens action cam can record up to 5K at 60fps, up to 160-degree wide angles at 5K 30fps, and 4K 120fps for slow motion.
For users looking to capture content while hiking, diving, or riding on a motorcycle, the Insta360 X6 is compatible with over 100 accessories.

To make editing easier for users, Insta360 announced PanoMind, the first 360-native AI model trained on 10,000+ hours of footage from travel, daily life, winter sports, motorcycling, and more. As users recharge the X6, the PanoMind auto-edit engine, AI Director, creates highlights from captured footage to send to the Insta360 app. Alongside the auto-edit engine, users can edit their clips using Auto-Edit 2.0, which adjusts the framing, camera movement, cuts, music, and transitions through a single tap. Not to mention, the optional Analysis feature runs on the camera rather than relying on the cloud.
For those who prefer traditional, professional editing, users can download Insta360 Studio on Mac and Windows to edit multiple clips, stitch them together, and export.
Before wrapping up, users can back up their Insta360 X6 content to the optional Insta360+ Cloud Services, offering 2TB of storage for $9.99 USD per month. Not to mention, files uploaded to the cloud service can be edited through Moments Pro, a cloud-side editing tool built with Google Gemini, which generates videos by selecting the subject, mood, style, and timeframe.
