JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R, Coming Soon With Demo 1

Bandai Namco announced the upcoming early access demo, bundle details and release date for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R.

Get your Stands and get ready to ‘ora ora ora’! The publishing team behind Elden Ring, Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc., announced JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R will launch on September 1, 2022—with an early access demo coming out soon. A new gameplay trailer and press release dropped this week with full details for the anime-based fighting game on new characters, the various editions of the game, how the demo will work and pre-order bonuses.

This would be the biggest JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure game to date that has brought 50 characters to its roster—taken from the multiple generations of the Joestar bloodline. Players will be able to play heroes and villains such as Jonathan Joestar, Dio Brando and Jotaro Kujo. The current generation the anime highlights the daughter of Jotaro and the first-ever female JoJo in the series, Jolyne Cujoh, and she will be playable as well.

The newest gameplay trailer revealed that Robert E. O. Speedwagon, Mariah, Pet Shop and Diego Brando, from the original JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure canon, would be in the game. It showed off their character animations, along with their snazzy moves and snippy voice lines. Fighting game season has been on the rise, which began with MultiVersus that wrapped its first impressions from gamers who participated in the Closed Alpha.

While buying the game on the release date would be okay, fans who pre-order their copy will also receive the opportunity to participate in an early access demo of the game. Players would be able to try out two modes to test their might—nope, wrong game—it would be online PVP and practice modes. Nintendo Switch pre-order bonuses are said to be announced at a later date.

Additional to pre-order bonuses, all pre-orders will receive a bonus Green Dolphin Street State Prison Jacket costume for Jolyne Cujoh—it just makes sense to pre-order! Pre-orders are available to purchase now (except for the digital Nintendo Store). Here is the breakdown of the different editions fans can pre-order now:

  • Standard Edition ($49.99): This includes JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R
  • Digital Deluxe Edition ($69.99): This includes Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R, an Animation Special Event Color Set for the following characters (Jonathan Joestar, Joseph Joestar, Jotaro Kujo, Josuke Higashikata, Giorno Giovanna), and the Season Pass, which grants four new playable characters, two exclusive costumes (Rohan Kishibe First Appearance Costume” & “Mohammed Avdol’s Father? Other specific revealed details included the update to the game’s system that has added a tag-team “Support Attack” system, similar to the support attack system in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles. CyberConnect2 developed the latest Demon Slayer game and other anime games, along with the original game for Bandai Namco.

The voice cast will also be updated with all the current characters introduced up to the current season of the anime. The original game released only had the first season voice actors, but the roster of new characters would be building on the established characters from the eight arcs of the manga, including one’s that have not debuted in the anime yet.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is expected to hit physical and digital shelves on September 1, 2022, for Steam (PC), and September 2 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. So far, the early access demo appeared to be exclusive to PS4 and PS5 players, but updates are expected via the game’s Twitter. September 1 will also be the Part Two premiere of the Stone Ocean arc of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime on Netflix.
