Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link UK and Australia Beta Open 1

While Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link eyes a 2024 release, players in the UK and Australia will now be able to join the Closed Beta soon.

A new mobile game within the world of Kingdom Hearts called Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link will be coming out soon in 2024. Square Enix just announced that a Closed Beta Test will be available for players from the UK and Australia in the coming months. The test was scheduled for iOS devices between November 29 and December 8. There will be a closed beta for Android in January 2024. The best part is that players can now submit their beta test application on the Kingdom Hearts website.

The game will essentially be similar to other GPS-based mobile games like Pokémon GO or Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, except this one will be set in the Kingdom Hearts realm. The test was said to not give early access players any advantage over new users upon release, as player data will not carry over. Square Enix also noted that players will be able to play with a controller, and the test supports PS4, PS5 and Xbox controllers.

While the teaser trailer did not reveal too many details, it did show players fighting Heartless in various environments. The teaser also confirmed some of the characters that will be assisting the player. The Disney characters shown were Mickey, Pinocchio, Winnie the Pooh, Woody, Aladdin, Rapunzel, Ariel, Tinkerbell, Simba and Baymax. Apparently, the Disney character assists appear to be in the form of trophies which can be used during battles to give the player character special abilities.

And according to the closed beta FAQ, players will be able to form a party with up to three other players “within a close proximity”. The trailer also teased the inclusion of the Scala ad Caelum world. This world was first introduced in the mobile game Kingdom Hearts Union X (pronounced as “chi”, like the Greek letter) and later expanded upon in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Only UK and Australian residents can sign up for the closed beta. Applications are open on the official Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link website. Around 3000 participants from the UK and Australia will be chosen for the beta. Apply early to have a chance to participate!
