Magic: The Gathering Movie Is A Thing

Well, it’s happened. Just when you thought Hollywood was making too many silly adaptations, they pull out a Magic: The Gathering movie out of their hats.

The announcement came from The Hollywood Reporter, who says “20th Century Fox has closed a deal to acquire the hugely popular fantasy card game from Hasbro and will develop the property with an eye to launch a massive franchise on the scale of Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings.”

Personally, I grew up playing Magic: The Gathering as a kid. I still have my Squee card that I bought off eBay way back in the day. Needless to say, it holds a special place in my heart. But at no point did I think “hey, they should turn this into a movie!”

But hey, maybe I’m completely wrong. Anyways, keep it tuned to CGM for more info on the movie based on a card game.
