Marathon has released its mid-season update that introduces a ton of new rewards, patch notes and a new Displate partnership.
Heading off this update is the previously mentioned new rewards; the rewards pass, specifically, is getting an expansion. For both free and premium tracks, players can get four new Runner Shell styles, a WSTR Shotgun style, and a profile emblem with the season one pass. Premium members will get access to the Thief, Assassin, and Destroyer runner styles, while free members get the Recon style, WSTR Shotgun, and a Profile Emblem.

Marathon has also added a new feature called Stay Together, which solves the problem of losing a good crew. After finishing a match, you will have the option to invite the people you just played with into another game. This feature even works if only one team member makes it out, so make sure to stay on if you want to play with good teammates again. Players can view the entire list of patch notes by checking out the Marathon Dev Team’s blog post.
One of the biggest features of this update is the addition of the C.A.R.R.I. Protocol. Launched by ONI, the CyberAcme Runner Reinforcement Initiative is a limited-time event where both solo and multiplayer crews can achieve contract objectives and exfiltrate for rewards. These rewards are meant to help early and mid-progression players while still letting the veterans have fun. If players succeed, they will earn CyberAcme Commendations. They can then turn these into the C.A.R.R.I. armoury for things like weapons, random salvage crates, reputation packs that increase their fame with chosen factions and more.

As a special bonus for players who love a certain Runner Shell, Marathon and Displate have come together for a collaboration. The new designs feature iconic characters and scenes from the game that are all high quality. Players who want even more from the Marathon universe can order the Collector’s Edition from the Bungie store, which includes all of the deluxe version content but only comes with a game code. The Collector’s Edition also has a 1/6th scale Thief Runner shell statue with LED lights and in-game cosmetics if you order from the Bungie Store or PlayStation Direct.
Quite a good day for Tau Ceti natives.
