PlayStation has revealed that Marvel’s Wolverine, developed by Insomniac Games, is receiving the exclusive console treatment and will include a disc tray cover for physical games.
Insomniac Games and Marvel Games have been hard at work refining and developing Marvel’s Wolverine as we get closer to launch. The development team shared lots of new information at SDCC for the new title, including that Spartacus actor Liam McIntyre will be the latest face donning the claws and mask as Logan/Wolverine. Today, PlayStation has revealed the first look at a brand-new limited-edition PS5 console featuring the adamantium-laced hero, with iconic gashes in the chassis to denote the mutant’s arrival. PlayStation has rolled out the red carpet with a new trailer showing off the new digs, and it can be seen below.
Inspired by Insomniac’s new Battle Reborn suit and claws, the PS5 Digital Edition – Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle will be available globally. The colourway is in the same iconic yellow the mutant is known for, and the limited edition DualSense wireless controller also features furious slashes from his claws, giving players a stylish and aggressive way to play (the DualSense will notably be available for purchase separately). If fans already own a PS5 or PS5 Pro console, this design will be available as PS5 and PS5 Pro Console Covers directly from PlayStation and in limited quantities through select retailers. These console covers include covers for both PS5 consoles with disc drives and consoles without disc drives.
It will also come in a new, adamantium steel colourway for fans who want to portray a different side of Wolverine. This special PS5 Pro console cover design features the same dramatic claw-slashed details, but in a sleek silver colourway, and a special edition DualSense will also be released as a standalone purchase for gamers to match their style. Interestingly enough, although PlayStation is stopping the production of physical discs by 2028 (as announced by them), Marvel’s Wolverine will come with a physical release, and the PS5 console covers will include a disc tray cover for gamers who prefer it.

After the pre-order period, Marvel’s Wolverine Limited Edition PS5 Console bundle and accessories will be available beginning September 15 in limited quantities. Like everything else PlayStation limited edition, these items will undeniably sell out fast, so fans who want to get their hands on any of the limited edition offerings should head to the PlayStation Direct website starting on August 19 to try to secure theirs when it becomes available.
