On the heels of a huge Ocarina of Time reveal, another Nintendo Direct has appeared, showcasing what’s coming to Nintendo for the rest of 2026 and beyond.
It has been an exciting week for video game fans, as a new Nintendo Direct that aired just yesterday gave fans a brand new look at the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and a recent Sony State of Play has given a whole lot for consumers to look forward to when it comes to new releases. PlayStation unveiled a fresh GUNDAM Rogue Orbit gameplay trailer with a whole lot more, and now, it’s Nintendo’s turn. Just this week, Nintendo confirmed that there would be two Nintendo Direct showcases this week back to back, and they delivered.
Every Nintendo Direct is loaded with developments ripe from Nintendo, giving fans a look behind the curtain at what’s coming to the Nintendo Switch family of consoles in the coming calendar year and stoking hype for first-party titles, and the Nintendo Direct for September 2026 brought the heat. Monster Hunter Wilds
The Nintendo Direct for September 2026 kicked off hot, with a brand new trailer for the upcoming port for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance. Friends can now team up in person for local co-op, using their Nintendo Switch 2 console. The base game is coming on December 4, with the Ascendance DLC coming at a later date in 2027.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation
It has been confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the conclusion to the exciting Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 at the Nintendo Direct. As a bonus, Crisis Core is launching on Switch 2 later today!
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity – Definitive Edition
The Nintendo Direct then rolled out a The Legend of Zelda announcement at the Nintendo Direct, as Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Definitive Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on February 25, 2027. It will also be including a new difficulty.
Meccha Chameleon
The online game that has taken the internet by storm has now invaded the Nintendo Direct, Meccha Chameleon, has been officially confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2. It comes to Switch 2 later today.
Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 2
The other half of the previously announced expansion pass for Pokemon Pokopia has been revealed and more creatures and accessories will be unleashed onto the island. It’s coming at a later date in 2027.
Star Fox
A new update has been deployed for the latest Star Fox title, as fans will be able to engage in four player split screen dog fights. On top of that, four new multiplayer maps have been added and four players can join to play online on the same squad. As a bonus, Star Fox Adventures is coming to Nintendo Classics later today.
The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt Remastered
It’s coming to Nintendo Switch 2 September 29. It includes all DLC, and Songs of the Past is also coming to Switch 2 next year,
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Royal Edition
A port for the sequel to Kingdom Come is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave
A release hype trailer was then deployed, reminding everyone Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is coming to Switch 2 this month on.
Professor Layton and the New World of Steam
A new trailer showcasing everything Professor Layton brings to the table, including solving intense riddles, is coming in Professor Layton and the new World of Steam.
Yokai Watch 2: Haunted Domain
Nintendo then let fans know a Yokai Watch sequel is still happening, and it’s still in development for Switch 2.
Pikmin 4: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy
The latest mainline entry in the Pikmin series, Pikmin 4, is getting the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition treatment. This port comes with the Dandori Academy, and this is where fans will have to solve smaller puzzles, planning out a path, and improve times on collecting treasure. There are three difficulties included, and exams from Dandori Academy will test players on the weekend. Players can even earn medals for how well they do, and there will be leaderboards for bragging rights. 72 stages will be released over time.
Onyx: The Dark Grip
A new title from Bloober Team unveiled at the Nintendo Direct, inserts fans into an interactive mystery that sees players embody Holden, as you solve touch screen related mysteries. It’s coming in 2027.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
Like all of the other exclusives launched on Nintendo Switch, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is also receiving the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition treatment, with a complete new character, Shimmer. She can also wield the power of foreshadowing. It launches on December 3.
Stage Fright
A new mysterious coming of age journey has been uncorked from the makers of Overcooked, and like that title, players will need to work together to explore to the fullest and solve mind boggling puzzles. Launches 2027.
Ondeh Ondeh Kaya’s Tasty Tale
A vibrant and musical adventure bursting with flavor is on its way! Join Kaya on her journey to become a Worldbuilder in this heartwarming puzzle action-adventure, when it launches for Switch at a later date.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
The latest LEGO Batman title is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, including the Mayhem DLC that allows fans to play as The Joker and Harley Quinn. It’s coming next month.
New Kirby Air Riders amiibo
New Kirby amiibo are coming, and the amiibo lineup for Kirby Air Riders is now 100% complete.
Cairn
What if The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild was just climbing? Cairn seeks to answer that question, as Cairn sets you out on climbing expeditions to uncover the mountains long forgotten past. It launches early 2027. A free demo is available today on eShop.
Resident Evil – Three Remakes
Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition with DLC, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition are coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
The reimagining of the original Tomb Raider is now coming to Nintendo Switch 2. It arrives February 12.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort
Another update is coming to Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, and it will allow fans to explore the island freely. There’s a lot to discover around Wuhu Island, and there’s a brand new island crown mode for fans to play on an offline leaderboard for bragging rights over the living room. It launches October 22.
Metroid Ravenous
Metroid Ravenous, the latest game in the 2D Metroid series, arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 January 28, 2027.
Mario Kart World
Following the recent Mario Kart 8 Deluxe update that included eight player split screen, Mario Kart World is getting a new update that brings 10 Super Mario Kart tracks to World. The tracks have updated graphics, and new modes are also coming to the track. The free update launches later today.
Mega Man: Dual Override
Proto Man will be a fully playable character giving fans two distinct playstyles to switch between. It’s coming in the Spring 2027. New amiibo for Mega Man and Proto Man will be available the same day.

A newly revealed RPG is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 called Eternal Anima. It launches March 4.
