Nintendo Direct September 2022 Event Start Time, Date, and Rumours 1

Here is a breakdown of how to watch and what to expect at the upcoming Nintendo Direct event for September 2022.

The last week or two have been filled with much speculation on when the next Nintendo Direct would be happening. This morning, the Nintendo of America Twitter posted that the anticipated event will take place tomorrow, September 13, 2022. It has been rumoured the announcement livestream should be a 40-minute discussion on games coming to Nintendo Switch for the Holidays.

Start Time of Nintendo Direct September 2022

The Nintendo Direct September 2022 livestream will begin at 7am PT (10am ET). (For our friends overseas, the Nintendo UK channel will be uploading it an hour later as a video-on-demand, while every other Nintendo channel has referred to it as a “livestream.”)

What Can Be Expected From Nintendo Direct September 2022

Nintendo has described tomorrow’s presentation as “roughly 40 minutes of information mostly focused on Nintendo Switch games launching this winter.”

Beyond that, nothing is certain about what exactly we can expect at tomorrow’s livestream, but leakers have hinted that Nintendo Switch’s HD ports should take the forefront. This could mean that The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker/Twilight Princess HD remasters could be announced for the holidays or early next year—including the Metroid Prime Trilogy ports.

Speaking of older titles, dataminers have speculated for some time that the Game Boy hardware families may be added to Nintendo Switch Online’s library of free retro games. It’s unclear if these would be included in the regular or Expansion Pass tiers of the membership, should this come to pass, but if this were to be announced at the Nintendo Direct tomorrow, it would be a considerable addition to the program.

Other rumours speculated a new Fire Emblem game could be on the table, along with the possibility of It Takes Two coming to the Switch. And while the odds may seem low, a Breath of the Wild 2 teaser or reveal could be a sweet little cherry to top off the event since it was announced to be coming sometime in 2023. Aside from those insider rumours, Nintendo Direct September 2022 could showcase something completely unexpected.

As for what has already been solidified, Nintendo’s publishing lineup included Bayonetta 3 in October and PokĂ©mon Scarlet and PokĂ©mon Violet in November. The company also noted how Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp was slated for release as well—but was put on hold indefinitely, given the current conflict in Ukraine. An updated release date for this hotly anticipated revival could come down tomorrow.

And of course, the as-of-yet untitled sequel to Breath of the Wild still looms upon the horizon. The next big Legend of Zelda title was delayed to Spring 2023, but while the Nintendo Direct will “focus mostly” on the rest of 2022, we could still potentially get an update to help drive holiday hardware sales.

If you are someone who wants to stay in the know of everything Nintendo coming this winter, this would be the event to tune in to find out more. It will also be the perfect time to start adding what to buy for Christmas.
