A New Star Ocean Game is Heading to PlayStation Next Year

Everything Showed off During PlayStation’s October State of Play

After last month’s PlayStation Showcase that dived into both new games and updates on previously announced games, but this time around PlayStation is back at it again with a State of Play that dived into updates for upcoming 3rd Party PS4 and PS5.

With PlayStation setting expectations of what PlayStation gamers should expect from the presentation but expectations for specific huge tentpole AAA games. Before the event officially kicked off it was teased that Little Devil Inside was confirmed for the event. With all things considered, this State of Play had a couple of interesting games shown off during the 20-minute presentation.

Here are the highlights of everything announced in the October State of Play presentation.

Deathverse -Let it die-

The show kicked off with Deathverse -Let it die- which feels kind of a fusion of Destruction AllStars and Bleeding Edge. The game asks the question of what if a multiplayer melee survival action game was a reality TV show, so kind of like Squid Game in a way. Deathverse -Let it die- is set to release sometime in Spring 2022 for PS4 and PS5.

We Are OFK

After that we get another look at We Are OFK, which made an appearance at the latest State of Play. The game follows a group of friends in their 20s as they attempt to break into the music business in Los Angeles while figuring life out, which includes falling in/out of love, figuring out how to pay rent, making art and so much more. The game features five episodes of the interactive animated series, five interactive music videos: debut tracks performed by OFK, fully-voiced interactive dialogue from a star-studded cast, emotional texting, thirst texting, meme texting, emoji spamming and more. We Are OFK is set to be released on PS4 and PS5 sometime in 2022.

Bugsnax: Isle of Snax

Up next is another look at Bugsnax in the upcoming free update known as the Isle of Snax. In the update, you’ll explore a mysterious new land crawling with supersized Bugsnax. Meanwhile, back on Snaktooth, is a huge number of additions that make the game feel more like Animal Crossing: New Horizons as you can complete challenges from your mailbox, collect decorations to personalize your hut, and put hats on your favourite Bugsnax. This free Bugsnax content update is coming sometime in early 2022 on PS4 & PS5.

Five Night at Freddy’s: Security Breach

Following the wholesomeness of Bugsnax is Five Night at Freddy’s: Security Breach which shows off more of the actual gameplay of the game. Security Breach is a first-person, survival horror game set in Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex where you play as Gregory, a little boy who’s trapped inside overnight. The gameplay showed off the game’s mechanics including stealth, the tools to survive and an unlikely ally in Freddy Fazbear who you can hop into like a Gundam. Five Night at Freddy’s: Security Breach isn’t that far away as it’s releasing this year on PS4 and PS5 on December 16th

Death’s Door

It was announced that Death’s Door is making its way to PlayStation, which the developers promise will play at a smooth 60 fps. In Death’s Door, you reap the souls of the dead and while punching a clock which sounds monotonous but it’s honest work for a Crow. The job gets lively when you’re assigned soul is stolen and you must track down a desperate thief to a realm untouched by death, where creatures grow far past their expiry. Death’s Door is set to release on PS4 and PS5 on November 23rd, for anyone who ends up preordering the game on PlayStation will get the developer’s previous game, Titan Souls for free on PlayStation.

KartRider: Drift

Up next is the popular racing franchise with over 300 million players, KartRider: Drift which is drifting it way to PS4 next year. The free-to-play, cross-platform kart racer lets you challenge your friends regardless of platform and has no paywalls or pay-to-win strategies. KartRider: Drift was created from the ground up for dynamic and developed in Unreal Engine 4, online gameplay where new content will be added regularly with more significant content updates every season. KartRider: Drift will be released on PS4 sometime in 2022 but you can get a taste of it on PlayStation this year as a closed beta will be available on PS4 starting on December 8th.

King of Fighters XV Open Beta Test

Up next we got another look at King of Fighters XV before its 2022 release. The game’s showcase showed off new character, Dolores who is quite mysterious as who can speak to the earth and control holy soil. Also Announced during the State of Play announced that an Open Beta Test which will feature Dolores, Shun’ei, Yashiro, Shermie, Chris, Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami, and Chizuru Kagura. The beta test is happening From November 19th through the 22nd. King of FIghter XV is set to release on PS4 and PS5 on February 17th, 2022.

First Class Trouble

Up next is a game that has a lot of Among Us energy to it with First Class Trouble. In it, six players enter the game together, but two of them are naughty Personoids, secretly trying to stop the Residents from escaping. Social deduction is your key to survival, the Invisible Walls team outlines the roles of both Resident and Personoid and provides strategic insights to help you come out on top, no matter which side you’re on. First Class Trouble isn’t too far away as it will be launching on PlayStation Plus as part of November’s collection of free games on November 2nd on PS4 and PS5.

Star Ocean The Divine Force

As a part of Star Ocean’s 25th, Square Enix and developer Tri-Ace present have announced a new entry in the Star Ocean franchise, Star Ocean The Divine Force. The game is et to feature a story that blends fantasy and sci-fi settings, a plethora of different playable characters and side stories, and a unique battle system that allows for thrilling fights using simple and instinctive controls. Star Ocean The Divine Force is set to release sometime in 2022 on PS4 and PS5.

Little Devil Inside

As the ‘one last thing’ for this State of Play is the game that PlayStation confirmed would be at the presentation, Little Devil Inside for an in-depth look at the game. In the trailer, PlayStation took the chance to go deeper in the game and announce the first reveal of the world map in Little Devil Inside as well as showcasing how travel works in the game. Check it out yourself to get a better idea of the game before it releases which didn’t give an updated release date, but it’s still heading to PS4 and PS5 at some point in the future.
