Pokemon Go Players Thrilled As Much-Requested Raid Feature Finally Arrives

A quality-of-life feature that Pokemon Go players have requested for years has finally been added to the game.

First seen by players on the game’s subreddit, Pokémon Go now allows you to “Ready Up” when doing solo raids. It may not seem like much, but this means you don’t have to wait the full two minutes when doing a raid, and it can cut off significant time, especially for players doing multiple solo raids. While soloing raids isn’t always viable, there are plenty of lower-rank ones that are easy to do, more so with powerful Legendary Pokémon.

Needless to say, players are pretty pleased, with one writing, “Thank God!!! I hate finding a gym with an active raid and having it be in some shady area, and/or I look shady parked in random places. I want to be in and out and would panic having to stare at what seems to be the longest countdown that ever existed lol.”

Niantic has drawn its fair share of criticism for updates and changes over the years, but it seems to be making changes fans have wanted lately. In the same Reddit thread, someone else notes yet another quality-of-life change, saying, “There’s also apparently a ‘heal-all’ button during raids when your Pokemon have all fainted, towards the bottom of the screen, I guess, but I haven’t seen that either on mine.”

This may not be the only Pokémon Go news we see this month, as The Pokémon Company announced a new Pokemon Presents for February 27 at 6:00 am PT. The presentation can be watched on the official Pokemon Youtube Channel.

Past Pokemon Presents have provided new updates on Pokemon Go, as well as the announcement of other games like Detective Pikachu Returns, anime series, products, and more.

Pokemon Go is available for download on iOS and Android devices.
