The original Pokémon Diamond & Pearl games were released back in 2006 for Japan and 2007 for the west, the release for the remakes marks Diamon & Pearl’s 15th anniversary. The remakes are being handled by Pokemon HOME developer, ILCA, who say that the Nintendo DS versions will “faithfully reproduced and colourfully revitalized for Nintendo Switch”

“The sense of scale of the towns and routes has been carefully preserved, and fans who played the original games will recognize many familiar places,” ILCA said in a statement. “These games are updated with the easy-to-understand, player-friendly conveniences introduced in recent Pokémon core series video games, in addition to up-close-and-personal Pokémon battle scenes.”

Like the Diamond & Pearl Remakes, Pokémon Legends Arceus is also set in the Sinnoh Region but the difference it’s actually a prequel that takes place many centuries ago in an era that resembles the feudal era Japan. Unlike main Pokemon entries, the game is a new 3D Pokemon adventure game that very reminiscent of Pokemon Consoles games like Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD; Gale of Darkness on the Nintendo Gamecube.

The goal of Pokémon Legends Arceus is to create the region’s first-ever Pokedex, players will be able to experience new action and RPG elements that Nintendo describes as going “beyond the framework established thus far while honouring the core gameplay of past Pokémon titles.” Both games were announced earlier this year in the franchise’s 25th-anniversary event, alongside more gameplay of Pokemon New Snap.
