After being on the market for nearly seven years, The Pokémon Company has called the curtain on Pokémon UNITE, and it will end service in March 2027.
The writing was on the wall for Pokémon UNITE when The Pokémon Company announced it wouldn’t include the title at the 2027 World Championship events, and today, the final bell has rung. Pokémon UNITE is ending. The MOBA came onto the scene in 2021 as a Pokémon take on a MOBA for the Nintendo Switch, and it eventually made its way to mobile platforms later that year. Think League of Legends or DOTA 2, but Pokémon. After over six years of service, the game’s service is coming to an end.

The official closure post reads, “Thank you for playing Pokémon UNITE. We regret to inform you that service for Pokémon UNITE will end on Tuesday, March 23, 2027,” and to send the game off properly, the MOBA is unleashing a final service event. The post continues, “We would like to express our thanks to everyone by holding a special event until service ends. The Pokémon Unite Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo competitive tournament (an event for Pokémon Unite only) will also be held as previously announced. We hope you continue to enjoy Pokémon Unite until the final day of service.” As of this moment, fans can no longer buy premium in-game currency, Aeos Gems. The shop has closed.
Starting on November 12, Pokémon UNITE will enter sunset status, and the final in-game event will run until the closure time on March 23. While not many details have been released on what exactly the end game event will look like, you will be able to obtain past items from the shop at up to an 80% discount. Interestingly enough, the closure post also confirms the Grand Shop Sale will include “never added before” items such as Holowear and Trainer Fashion items, some of which were exclusive to past Battle Passes.
