Rebooted Power Rangers Announce Their New Villain

If you needed more Power Rangers in your life you can look forward to the upcoming reboot in 2017 which has finally cast its villain.

Elizabeth Banks who just played Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games, will be playing the long time arch nemesis of the Power Rangers, Rita Repulsa. A seemingly perfect fit and most likely already accustomed to some whacky costume designs.

The reboot is being handled by Lionsgate which was also the studio responsible for the adaptation of The Hunger Games. It’s written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz who are known for their work on X-Men: First Class and it will be directed by Dean Israelite.

Banks is working alongside, or better yet, against her fellow cast mates, RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludy Lin, Naomi Scott and Dacre Montgomery who are fairly new to the acting scene.

In the meantime, you can catch Power Rangers Super Megaforce on Nickelodeon to tide you over.
