Remembrance Day Highlight: Games to Grunts

Named as One of the Top 16 Veteran Resources

Remembrance Day Highlight: Games to Grunts

With it being Remembrance Day, it’s time to highlight Games to Grunts, an OSD Social Connectivity program providing video games to members of the military community.

The creation of Games to Grunts was thanks in part to the gaming industry’s focus on digital distribution but also thanks to the program’s desire to connect with the military community directly through the power of gaming. The program provides game codes to its members for free thanks to support from developers and OSD’s partners which includes Ubisoft, Microsoft and much more.

In 2019, Games to Grunts was named as one of the top 16 veteran resources by the Department of Veteran Affairs. The program is open to active service members, veterans and their families. To qualify for the program, anyone interested can sign up through ID.me Troop ID, which is limited to service members from the United States and Canada.

Games to Grunts is only one program under OSD which is a nonprofit Veteran Support Ecosystem with a goal to enhance veteran’s lives through community engagement, The organization was founded back in 2010 and over more than a decade has impacted 1,000,000 veterans, active military and their family members through award-winning programs. Like Games to Grunts, those other programs emphasize social connectivity, professional development and community service.

The game codes provided through Games to Grunts are limited, so they do run out and are limited to one per account, so no double-dipping. Members of the program were able to redeem games such as the Jackbox Party Packs, the Banner Saga games, Spiritfarer, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire and many more. Games currently being offered on Games to Grunts’ website include DubWars (PC), Heroes & Generals WWII Starter Packs (PC), Hamsterdam (PC), CreaVures (PC), Guns of Icarus Alliance (PC), Vanguard Princess (PC), Door Kickers: Action Squad (PC) and Flying Tigers: Shadows Over China (PC).
