Samsung Unveils Latest in the Samsung Galaxy Lineup 1

Samsung revealed that they are adding two new smartphone models to the Galaxy line, the S9 and S9+.

Galaxy S9 and S9+ are available for purchase on March 16, 2018 for $960 and $1,100 respectively. The phones are available for preorder in Canada now until April 9, 2018.

Samsung introduced three new main features that are incorporated with the new Galaxy S9 and S9+. The new slow-mo camera function allows you to capture fast moving images and customize them however you see fit. Users will be able to select 35 different options and even add music to enhance their favourite moments. Samsung integrated a new AR emoji feature that allows you to turn yourself into an emoji and express yourself in new ways. The new Galaxy phones incorporate their own virtual assistant into the new smart phones, otherwise known as Bixby. Bixby works with the Samsung camera to provide additional information on anything the camera is pointed at. The virtual assistant is able to perform live translations so that you are able to fully understand someone who speaks another language.

The New Galaxy phones feature speakers that are tuned by AKG and powered by Dolby Atmos. Keeping with the Samsung phone heritage, the S9 and S9+ feature edge-to-edge Infinity Display. The phones come in two colours, Lilac Purple and Titanium Grey.

“The way we use our smartphones has changed as communication and self-expression has evolved,” said DJ Koh, president and Head of IT & Mobile Communications Division, Samsung Electronics. “With the Galaxy S9 and S9+, we have reimagined the smartphone camera. Not only does the Galaxy S9 and S9+ enable consumers to shoot the best photos and videos anywhere, it’s a smartphone that’s designed to help them connect to others and express themselves in a way that’s unique and personal to them.”

Galaxy S9 and S9+ also feature IP68 water and dust resistance and a expandable memory of up to 400GB. You will not have to worry about your phone being broken into because the new phones offer three different ways to secure your device: iris, fingerprint and facial recognition.

Any Canadians who wish to trade in their old phones, will receive a minimum of $100 off when they purchase the Galaxy S9 or S9+ between now and April 9, 2018.
