Sea of Thieves is opening its seas up to the new Season Ten, and the roll-out has included a variety of new features for resident swashbucklers to take advantage of, including Guilds!

Revealed by the official Xbox website, Sea of Thieves season 10 is launching TODAY, and it will allow pirates even more freedom on the world’s field of blue. To expand upon the season seven ‘captaincy’ feature, season ten improves the social aspect of the open sea by allowing pirates to form their own guilds, and with the inclusion of guilds, groups of pirates can help each other out by levelling each other’s ships and accruing Guild Reputation. The trailer for Sea of Thieves season ten can be seen below.

The season ten update comes FREE for current Sea of Thieves players playing on Xbox Game Pass (PC or console) or those who own the title on Steam or Windows. Starting today, pirates can form their very own Guilds, allowing those with similar ideals the opportunity to come together under one banner to reap rewards together.

Those apart of the same guild can help each other out by earning Guild Reputation and unlocking rewards. Rewards include special clothing themed to different ships’ roles in the guild, and members can even pledge their vessel to the guild to allow other members to take it out for a spin. This obviously nets perks for the captain who pledged their ship, considering guild members can help level the now communal ship while also silently judging the member’s design choices on the interior.

With every 100 levels of Guild Reputation collectively reached in Sea of Thieves, members will earn a level of Distinction that will upgrade the Guild Plaque and Guild Reputation cards. If members continue raising the Guild’s Reputation, new Commendations will be available to complete, and some even carry prizes, including the unique Unbroken Bonds ship set.

Fans can jump into season ten action right now in Sea of Thieves, and more information can be found on the official Xbox website regarding Guilds.
